I remember years ago, I think it was Busch era, I saw somewhere that they were getting ready to do pilot program in US with Mexican truckers and the teamsters were pissed. Well at the time I posted something on a Yahoo forum about it and as soon as I did I was banned from Yahoo forum. Well next day they just so happened to do story about it. This was a while ago, but seemed very low on the radar.

From my understanding these Mexican truckers that are allowed to enter and undermine our truckers do not have to have the same insurance and regulation as US truckers thereby giving US truckers an even bigger disadvantage.

Seriously. My dad was OTR and I went with him during the summers. You should have seen a 12 year old 80 lb weakling unloading washing machines in a 40 foot trailer and it's 140 degrees inside. Some places help you unload, others won't touch it, others make you sit in the truck while they do it.

They guys on the docks got a kick out of me and would even take up collections of money and give it to me for working so hard. You know it was something to be 12 and walking around with 200-300 dollars a truck stops in the middle of the night shooting pool and playing pac man.
