Could be, I suppose. But Mensa turns me off. There are MANY kinds of intelligence, not just academic talents.

Love it! Maybe I HAD the IQ (165) but that was many, many beers ago... Who needs all that horsepower anyway? Better to be a bit on the "not-very-smart" side - life is easier.

Mensa member since 91'. I took the test in college...I thought it would look good on my resume...

Most interviewers, as I've been told, don't like it.

I qualified for Sigma4, which is the top 2% of Mensa.


But I'm not a 'joiner'.

I don't want to be a member of MENSA because I know how to search for the answers if I wanted to. It means my knowledge of the Internet makes it an unfair test. Paper and pen without access to the Internet and I might do it :)

Yeah, and most MENSA members are stupid as shit when it comes to everyday knowledge. Having a high IQ doesn't necessarily mean you're bright and smart. I've known quite a few people who have very, very high IQ's and are MENSA members and seen them do the stupidest shit. I'd rather have an all around knowledge and be "street" smart than "book" smart. I know two MENSA members who can't even figure out the fact that its smarter to buy a home then rent one for $2,000.00 and buy in the most expensive grocerie stores and can't understand why they're always struggling. Stupid is as stupid does.

Alot of geniuses have crappy common sense. Einstein was a total bimbo and couldn't even remember where he lived half the time.

Most of the geniuses are good for only one thing suited to their know how. Alot of them are busy figuring out new and more destructive ways of killing other people.

I found that I'm great at math if I have the right teachers. Otherwise I'm terrible. I also found I can teach myself. I just have a problem with math because it bores the heck out of me.

But I'm great with language because it interests me.

LOL! My neighbor who was a MENSA member, couldn't figure out how to turn of her TV years ago, when her bratty little boy pulled the knobs out. I asked her if she thought about unplugging it?!

My daughter's six grade teacher wanted us to put her in MENSA, but we declined. I used to tell DD that what really matters is how you use your brains, and how good your common sense is.

She has the IQ, but is not among the elitists.

He was likable but Dumb. I think he bought his

Doctor Degree and bought his Mensa membership.

I have found that MENSA members are are able to reason extremely well, they ask the most pertinent questions, and would make good legislators, if not for the fact that they know you have to compromise your principles to get elected, or reelected.

It is a shame because our legislators and state governors OUGHT to be the most ethical "best and brightest" citizens we have, yet it never works out that way.

We get pandering fools, bribe seekers, or immoral, self aggrandizing twits like Teddy Kennedy and Hildebeast Rodham Clinton, two example of people who simply CANNOT EVER be trusted.
