This is my concern as she is a stay at home mom and I work.
Know one we know drinks coffee.

No changes to her appearance or behaviors. She barely leaves the house, that I know of. Only to take kids to and from school.

Does she appear to be a tad bit emotionless?

Next time she makes you a cup of coffee see if she gets weird about the sugar and cream. If she knows she mixed you up with someone, it will be hard for her to pull off naturally. You know her too well.

Has your wife been on any medications? The side effects of some are memory loss. I work with someone who has been on Xanax for years and it's scary how she forgets things about her job, things we've been doing the same way or were trained on a year ago, she suddenly will forgotten all about it as if she never heard of it.

If she does anything else to try to make you think you are crazy then yes it is gas lighting. Is she a domineering sort of woman? Those are the kind of people who would do that.

well while technically that could be construed as gaslighting.. it sounds like she was just playing with you.. is this out of character for her to make jokes like that? now if this happened often or you had the same feeling about something that is in regard to your personal dignity or relationship status or start feeling that she is doing this purposely at times with the intention to make you actually believe the falsehood no matter what then Id worry but since she laughed I'd just keep a closer eye on her integrity. your concern about this is troubling itself though because it implies to me that she is not like this under normal circumstances (making jokes, talking shit ect)

It is absolutely abuse! IMHO, it is the most insidious form of abuse because it makes you doubt your own reality. If you haven't already, you need to watch the movie, "Gaslight'.
