Why are older black people much more respectful and decent compared to younger blacks?

I'm not sure about in the US but in the UK the older black community is perfectly decent. I live around many older blacks who are grandparents and they are nice churchgoing people. They take care of their homes, their streets, etc. They are always raking their leaves from their driveway, doing their gardening, taking part in community projects. They always greet you in the street and are very pleasant. If they aren't retired they are employed in the health sector or a similar job. Most have had jobs their whole lives and have never been on welfare.

Many of the older black generation are also distrustful of Islam and the influx of Muslims in their communities, while the younger blacks have no problem with Islam and some even convert from Christianity. The younger blacks run riot and always have a chip on their shoulder that doesn't seem to be there with the older black communities.

Is it because of rap music that the old generation didn't have?
