Tsunami Warning Over



Indonesia says the threat of a major tsunami has passed following a strong earthquake off the Moluccas Islands.

The quake, put at a magnitude of 6.5, shook buildings on islands in the Moluku Sea.

It struck 130 miles from Ternate, the capital of Maluku island, and 233 miles from Manado, the northernmost city on Sulawesi island, the US Geological Survey said.

Seismologists said the area was safe from a killer wave about an hour after the quake hit.

It is not clear if the quake caused any damage or injuries.

Indonesia is prone to seismic upheaval due to its location on the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, an arc of volcanos and fault lines encircling the Pacific Basin.

there is a big difference in issuing a warning and one actually happening. All we get these days is warning about tsunami. it goes to show how little knowledge exists in knowing what might happen.
Its a real laugh... I remember about 2 years ago when scientists announced that they are now able to tell of forthcoming quake six month in advance.

The quake was only a 6.8, NOT big enough for a damaging tsunami. But there are a bunch of PARANOID people in Indonesia, I guess.

IT was major news today on sky news, that britney spears had shaved her head, and then she was seen with wearing a wig!!
