DAVE CHAPPELLE ON PRESIDENT TRUMP: HE HAS MADE IT ‘HARDER FOR COMEDIANS’

Dave Chappelle in an interview recounted election night with “Saturday Night Live” writers and said that President Donald Trump has made it “harder for comedians.”

During an interview with the New York Times Friday, the 43-year-old comedian talked about doing comedy since President Donald Trump won the election.


He’s so skewed, it’s hard to find an angle that sounds fresh,” Chappelle responded. “If you talk about him, it’s almost like you’re part of the chorus and not a soloist.”

Chappelle also shared what it was like on election night as he sat with “SNL” writers watching the electoral college votes pour in because everyone in the room thought Hillary Clinton “was going to win.”

“At a certain point [on election night], we were all in the writers’ room, and as the night went on, and Trump was picking up these Electoral [College] votes, everyone stopped writing,” the comedian recalled. “And then everyone was just staring at the TV. I saw people tear up sketches they were writing.”
