For all the criticisms of the Rockefellers people sometimes forget the good things that they did for the United States.

John D. Rockefeller established and provided the money for the University of Chicago.

In conjunction with his son he established and provided the money for Rockefeller University.

John D. Rockefeller and his son worked for nearly 30 years to buy the extra land that they didn't already own and convince to allow them to GIVE to the US Government, over HUGE opposition from western ranchers and western politicians, Grand Teton National Park (they also bought and gave the land to the United States that forms the corridor from Yellowstone National Park to Grand Teton National Park).

John D. Rockefeller and his son were instrumental in buying and providing the land for Acadia National Park (assisted by several other wealthy families).

John D. Rockefeller bought the land for the US Virgin Islands National Park on St. John's USVI (about 2/3 of that entire island in fact) and gave it to the United States.

During WW2 David Rockefeller declined to use his father’s influence, or his University Degrees, to secure an officer’s commission, enlisting as an Army private. He served from 1942 until 1945, rising to captain.

I don't see, and can not envision, the supposedly "Conservative" Koch Brothers giving away so much of their fortune to the general public. Say what you will about the Rockefellers, they were generous with their wealth in a way that is only "potentially" in the future going to be matched by Warren Buffet and Bill Gates - and we won't really see their "gifts", if they really occur, happen until AFTER they are dead, unlike the Rockefellers - who gave away, gave away, and gave away while they were alive.
