Once the pattern is made, try creating a mount at the same shape. Like holding a resonant tube at that specific point to allow vibration.

Would it make sense to know only a certain frequency will be allowed to vibrate and intensify according to the pattern?

If 1000Hz makes the pattern, then 1000Hz will resonant in the same type of pattern mounted where the sand does not move.
