Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74551457 I guess its not easy to discuss on the reasons, they are probably multiple and some people (inventors, philosophers etc) lived beyond their time. Archimedes lived in Syracuse, Sicely, Italy. They say he studied in Alexandria and then when he went back home, he used to contact his tutors in Alexandria to get feed back on his work (this is what the professor said and people laughed, as it is like today).
