Mystery Babylon
What LIQUID would modern-day IRAQ (Babylon) have that all other "Kings" and nations want?

There is nothing much in that desert land is there?

Revelation 17:2

For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."

I often wondered years ago, if Dune was a loose interpretation of Iraq and oil. Being Arrakis, sounds like Iraq-is. Also the desert. Also the farming of the spice which allows for travel.

Re: Mystery Babylon
Probably Europe, OP. They have symbolism depicting a woman riding on a bull/beast.

One of my favorite movies. I watched for the first time in the late 90s, so the correlation seemed obvious to me.

:)
