Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72589424 Picked up a few $1 buzz baits from walmart, will be amazing if they out perform all the expensive swimbaits I've acquired over the years. What about a lipless crankbait with a little rattle action? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36933452 Water temps are still fairly low, having in around 47-50. Usually good water clarity it hasn't rained for about a day but won't be sure until I get out there. As far as structures go the only thing I pitch around are toppled trees off the bank, don't have a boat which severely restricts my ability to get those deep bass. It's still pre spawn here in WV the bite usually picks up end of April early May |

What about a lipless crankbait with a little rattle action? Get at least one quality, larger buzz bait, you'll be glad you did. The wally world variety is a bit small, the blade will hang intermittently, and the spinner doesn't quite churn the water enough. You'll catch fish on the smaller bait, but, again, buzz bait = excitement, and a big buzz bait will = bigger excitement if there are lunkers where you'll be fishing. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36933452 65° murky 8' fallen trees and dam. Temps rising, you can target bass with moving banks. Start on the northeast side of the lake, preferably a wind blown bank. Since its stained or murky, start off with that chatterbait, i like using a grub trailer in white along with a trailer hook if there is not too juch wood around...mainly fish the grass is there is any. Look for wind blown flats adjacent to deeper water where the bass will be transitioning to spawning areas. Secondary points and even main lake points are strong players as well. You mention fallen wood, prime jig and pig locations...black and blue combo will match that water color... Go shallow, since you mentioned the last few days have been somewhat warm and today warmer, those fish will get shallow and tight to cover along that wood. Flip and pitch repeatedly to that wood cover, also throw a colorado blade along that wood knocking it along side forcing a few reaction bites. |

Truly appreciate the tips, don't wanna get skunked on the water again. I like to throw a super chunk on the back of the chatterbait since they aren't too long but enough for some tail action. I've never used a trailer hook on it before but if I get some bites and don't link up I'll try it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73960537 Baby brush hogs work well too Biggest bass I ever caught was on a pumpkin seed lizard. Lizards eat bass eggs, bass will eat lizards anytime, temp. You will even get male bass, hanging in 20 feet of water in Dec. to hit a lizard. Second choice is an old crank phone..... |
