Interesting but I believe the Universe is set up much simpler.

In the here and now we are space travelers that can choose the space, and it's contents, we wish to occupy our consciousness with, with obvious limits. Here and now we are impacted by the dimension of time we cannot control in any way.

After you die you are a time traveler that can choose the time you occupied during your stay in spacetime from conception-to-death, with limits, and subject to forces you installed during the recording of those space occupations while alive. You cannot control in any way the contents of this recorded space, or it's contents.

When in the here and now you record visionary regret, this is a recorded time-loop your future after-death consciousness can get stuck in. This is that "hell", ground hog day looping warned about by religions.

One of the recording that is the most important there is, is the one of Presence and Providence that happens to be the escape Door for the recording. Not going to get all religious about it as religions is only one of many paths of obtain the installation of the Door.

While you are in the here and now, you have that nagging voice called your conscience. That's you, after you've died and you are time traveling inside your spacetime recorded envelope, trying to communicate with your still embodied self-mind. The primary message your future self is trying to through to your here and now mind is to install the escape Door. After all, your time traveling consciousness now know what's on this "other side" and is trying to help itself, yourself and your present spacetime occupying self. Yes, the me, myself and I.
