Girls liked to dance, guys LOVED to dance with girls. We danced to everything. I miss those days. But here is a video of a famous Philly teen dance show mogul who tried to make his own 'Dick Clark's American Bandstand' type of empire in the city where it was born. They ended up in syndication all over the U.S.A. & Canada. Notice the similarity between him and Eugene Levy's "Mel's Rock Pile" character on SCTV. Graduated HS in '72 and married in '73. I wore those platform shoes in my wedding...lol One other thing. Look how slim they are - not like todays moose tweerking their asses. thanks for the memory. . . My dog ate my pronouns, he/she/it - everywhere. (Clown World tees) . It tells a lot of truths, namely, guys secretly liked Disco. Once it became un-popular, by word of mouth (mid 1980), because one person didn't like it, guys everywhere became ashamed of admitting that they liked it. The music, the dance, the atmosphere brings back a LOT of memories. |
