its interesting, I don't believe in god, but its highly likely that someone existed, named Jesus who challenged the powers that be and was mocked and put to death.

everything that I have studied pretty much talks about reincarnation. Be it as the self / soul or just the energy moving on without any remembering of your past life.

honestly I would have to say no though, I think these are just parables symbolizing things. Not because I don't think it can happen, but because I cant go around saying "i believe I believe" if I really don't believe.

No one posted right away so I went away and gave it some time. Only just remembered just now. Also my other thread that I keep bumping no one ever posts. I thought this could be the case. That's why I gave it some time.

It's not just important to me it's important to everyone.

Church buildings on every corner are evidence that something happened.

I believed blindly up until I suffered on the line for 10 years. My flesh has been crucified.

I've never heard Gods voice. God has always interested me. I've dedicated the last 20 years daily to learning about and thinking about God. He is all I can think about to answer things.

Can you have faith in the midst of all out suffering? It sure is a test for anyone. I'm still looking for answers. I know something you don't know.

I'm looking for help.

This is where I have ended up.

Faith should produce works. These should be visible to the world. The mystery of God intrigues me. I don't know why. I Love Love.

What is love? You can have all the faith to move mountains but if you have not love you are nothing.

Love is the highest power. But you can't please God without faith. So perhaps you need the two things. Hope they say also. Like a trinity Love Hope Faith. The truth is needed

It's got to be more than faith alone.

Now we could ask is Love real?

I think I love Jesus. I'd be completely bummed to find out he is a lie. I can't maintain a feeling of joy or happiness though. I'm more of a mourner.

Yes - the Lord can do that with his power but I refuse to believe that a man is equal to the Lord or that a human sacrifice is necessary for the forgiveness of "sins".
Because telling it is better instead of letting the blood flow out of the body - that makes him almost equal to Moloch or a Satan.

I dont think anyone on earth can say whether Jesus was resurrected or not.

Most people use the word BELIEVE.

That's not good enough for me.

It would be nice to believe without seeing. But there's no where to go from there.

I wish that I could help you. I don't think that what you seek will be found here. You should probably talk to someone far more knowledgeable about him and the Bible than I. I can only tell you that I believe fervently in Christ as our savior. He died for our sins and was resurrected. Too many times I was at rock bottom emotionally and felt such an awe-inspiring presence filling me with love when I prayed and needed it most. Other times, I've prayed and not felt it. Those times weren't rock bottom ones.

There are several incidents in my life that should have flat out killed me...no questions asked. I should have died....but I was saved, often times barely injured or not injured at all due to different things.

What I can tell you is that he loves you. He wants you asking questions and seeking him. He stated that our faith should be like that of a child. Did he mean that we should be inquisitive about it as some young children are, seeking to learn the truth, or did he mean to accept him as a given, as some young children do? I think that he meant both. Accept it as a given, but always strive to understand it. Seek it.

I can perform no miracles for you. My faith is not strong enough. It is something that I constantly work on, however...not to be able to do things, but to be closer to him. Pray to him for understanding, then read (or re-read) the words attributed to him. (Often red letters in many versions of the Bible). I truly believe you will start to feel the truth to his words. Pray for a closer relationship to him and for him to help you with your faith. Accept him into your heart as the savior. You don't have to be eloquent in your prayer. You don't have to be verbose. Jesus himself stated to keep it short as God knows what you want and need. Speak to him from your heart. Ask him for guidance.

I shall pray for you and hope you find him. I shall try to help in whatever way I can, however small that is. May his light shine on you and reveal to you his wonders.

Interestingly this was the topic of the recently released film, "The Case for Christ".

The main arguments for it are.
1) Over 500 witnesses saw Jesus alive after his crucifixion.
2) The Biblical testimony is accurate based on textual criticism, comparing over 5000 ancient manuscripts, and based on historical and archaeological evidence.
3) Jesus actually died on the cross, unlike Islam's false claims because when he was pierced by the Roman soldier, "water and blood" poured out. This is a lung condition caused by asphyxiation, which is how most die when crucified.
4) Roman soldiers guarded the tomb and faced death if they failed in their mission, making stealing the body unlikely.
5) The founders of Christianity all died for their belief in the resurrection, with the exception of the apostle John, who was dipped in boiling oil but survived.

You could also talk about the many miracles observed during Jesus' ministry including the raising of the dead. One of those resurrections was investigated by the Roman emperor.

Jesus showed his face to me in a towel hanging in my bathroom when I was going through really rough times . I believe he is alive . I wish I heard voices that could guide me but it's really just my convictions in my soul given to me by God that directs me. I pray so hard for understanding and to know Gods will for me in my life . I create art and write and I have thoughts of how I could impact humanity given the right tools . But sometimes I wonder if it's worth it. Does humanity really want to change and grow ? I wonder sometimes.

Leeda I like your idea about defeating death but Jesus already did this and if we stay faithful he will deliver us and grant us eternal life after this world full of suffering . Jesus said to be of good cheer because he overcame . With that being said I still pray one day life on this planet is void of death or violence .

He was the Son of God, and he was supposed to return and he did, just the same one they knew, he died on that cross, his body did, so to make if immortal The Father had to do it. He also went to the place the people who had passed and knew of his coming would know, they were let out of the place they were at, not in heaven you know. He brought them back from death into life, they walked around Jerusalem and talked to people some their kin, some just people they saw, but these who were dead were let out to go later to with Jesus, they also walked through one house as one of them was writing.
Jesus has the key he is the key to live and death, heaven and hell.
