Re: THIS Is The Smartest Kid In The World And He Thinks CERN Destroyed Our Universe…
This kid is a genius because everybody around him is feeding him that idea and the idea that he is special. They bought him lab coats and gave him his own little lab, I can talk like he does too when I'm tripping on acid. All the things he talks about just descend in to jibberish. He hasn't proved anything or invented anything substantial. I can already see his huge ego forming and he hasn't even done anything. And even if he is some kind of genius or boy wonder at such a young age; it really doesn't mean squat. I've seen so many children over the years in the media who were called child prodigies and geniuses who were the next Einstein. Those kids are grown up now. They might've advanced and fields and done some things but none of it was Einstein level. None of them made an impact. People, including children, need to get their egos in check. We are all going to die and nobody will remember us for anything so get over yourselves

Not impressed. The kid draws a number line and shows you can always add 1 to get a larger number and half of GLP wants to name their first born after him. It shouldn't surprise me as GLP is also full of theoretical physicists, if by theoretical physicists, we mean people that spout nonsense they read on the internet.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74667259

I'd say, because he can recite this learned information so easily, he is reasonably intelligent. A genius? Possible, but I doubt it. His parents are obviously stroking his ego and encouraging his pseudo-scientific rants.

He certainly has one gift -- the gift of gab.

Re: THIS Is The Smartest Kid In The World And He Thinks CERN Destroyed Our Universe…
Interesting video and smart kid who is enjoying himself by asking questions. I like that.

God came into the conversation early on and left just as quick, substituted with the infinite infinites.

Those infinite infinites could have been proven in three tries, giving a pattern. No need for more.

If God was truly believed to be ABOVE ALL, the kids video would have been much shorter. He needed "an out" to entertainingly explain for 20 minutes.

This was a video marking a threshold between our understanding a God's omnipotence.

IF he is bringing God into the conversation than he should also fess up that scripture speaks about the unsearchable things of God. Romans 11:33-36 would be one example. Perhaps Mom and Dad sidestepped that. It does bring up more infinities, though. :-)

Anyway, pretty cool kid with a good mind and grasp for articulation. The topic itself, while fascinating at first quickly spiraled into infinitely boring.

Three tries established a line early on and nothing changed after.

Re: THIS Is The Smartest Kid In The World And He Thinks CERN Destroyed Our Universe…
Unfortunately, all geniuses are named by non-geniuses. I was born with an extraordinary capacity to think, and have been called a 'genius' thousands of times in my life. When people use the word, it is through their own lens as to what that words means to them and how it comports with their perception of someone.

I have accomplished some truly remarkable things in my career. I've solved complicated problems in days that entire teams of engineers could not solve in decades, or environmental problems that were deemed hopeless, or radiologic problems that were considered too dangerous to cope with. However, in my opinion, the greatest reason people call me a genius is simply because they don't feel threatened by me when they don't understand something. I do not make someone 'pay a penalty' when they miss a clue, and I always talk up to people and not down. When you make others feel 'smart'(when they know you don't have to), they respect that.

What made people believe that Einstein was a "genius" wasn't his achievements in physics, it was that he was approachable by not only his peers, but the general public as well. Had Einstein been a prick, he would have been scorned and forgotten the day after he died.

This young man, identifying God from the outset, is pondering the idea of the infinite.

You will die one day and earn infinity in a place of your own making.

True! I've provided creativity clinics to numerous large corporations, particularly to help their engineers think more innovatively. Contrary to what most people think, engineers are mediocre at best when it comes to true innovation.

A couple of my basic tenets are that someone can not "think out of the box" unless they actually KNOW something out of the box. Generally speaking, it doesn't matter what IQ a child has; if all he has known are toys, tableware, and video games, anything he 'invents' will be composed of those elements.

Another tenet of mine is that there are 3 ways to deal with a problem: 1.) live with it, 2.) solve it, or 3.) eliminate it. The third option is always the best and it's sometimes surprising that people don't understand the difference between 2 and 3.

Excellent, you're my kind of person. I've always said that an ounce of social skill is worth a pound of intellect and those are the people I admire, not people like me.

In regards to what some people take offense to; yes, a small minority of folks through no fault of their own. We do not live in a very socially developed world, we still educate people through humiliation and it starts in childhood. A child who was humiliated every time he tried expressed a higher thought, will become an adult that will 'knee-jerk' into resentment whenever someone makes a sophisticated statement or comment. This is what I typically find in engineers; every time they proposed a solution in college, the professor made them feel stupid, so they generally try to keep their mouth shut whenever they're in a critical forum. In my clinics, I would always break that down and within around 15 minutes, everybody in the room is feeling and learning how to think like a 'genius,' instead of someone's pissing post.

What hes explaining to those who know, or knew and forgot, is that we are part of the infinite. Before we forget we should try to explain it.

What he will learn, it teaching it to those who forgot is harder than explaining it to yourself.

Until you get some fundamentals added to make for a solid argument. Not that any of his aren't, they are just tried, and so far found to be lacking in explaining the whole.

He doesn't need money, he needs access. Down with money in science, let it explore with transparency.

Excellent right back at you! I appreciate how you said it- through no fault of their own. That there was a genuine assessment. In our socially stunted world, you, my friend, are an egregious outlier. That is no small thing. It is amazing what people perceive. It is definitely amazing what people do not perceive. It sounds like one of your great strengths is knowing and understanding the zone where people gravitate to and get comfortable in. Congratulations on doing great work. I'd like to sit in on what you have to say.
