One of their subs is the top diesel electric submarine ever built, that would kick anything Israel has in the *ss. Don't underestimate diesel electric, it can be a lot stealthier than nuclear with the trade off being range. Even still, their best can easily do the entire Pacific.

Actually yes, but they don't have a nuke that can go on one yet.

They successfully tested this in 2014 with their fancy new sub that "is better than anything Israel has". And it is. No one expected them to do it, but they successfully duplicated Russia's best diesel electric sub with vast improvements and produced it in North Korea. No one expected them to replicate it, let alone with improvements. It is a fully modern sub. They succeeded in getting it to be a perfectly stable launch platform, even in heavy seas.

False, NK has no diesel electric subs and is a green water Navy limityd to coastal waters.

Israel has and much newer, which can operate without resupply for up to 30 days under normal operating conditions.

wiki says they have 77 romeo class with 9000 nm range

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

There is a lot of contradictory info out there and since anyone can edit wiki I do not trust it.

This article from Janes say they operate 22 romeos and lays doubt on their capabilities

[link to www.janes360.com]

They were attempting to develop a ballistic missile capable replacement for the romeos called the sinpo, but it seems to be a failure so far.

Does not look like NK has any real SLBM or cruise missile capability...at least none that we have knowledge of. Maybe US intelligence has more data. I doubt it.

One thing.

Janes is read by less of the public than wiki.

It loos to me like someone edited wiki to make NK look more powerful than it is.

World's second largest sub fleet.

World's largest of all Korea sub fleets.
All characters and events in this forum --even those based on real people-- are entirely fictional. All celebrity comments are impersonated...poorly. The above post contains coarse language and due to the content it should not be viewed by anyone.

Re: North Korea "Worlds Second Largest Submarine Forces In Number"
Yes, Nk has 2 or 3 supposedly good subs, 20 mediocre subs, and the rest so shotty as to be useless against actual warships.

It is presumed that a sub or 2 has ballistic missile capability based on a single test.

In decades of wargaming the Germans the success rate of good subs against carrier groups was dismall. Attrition wise it equates to something like needing 800 subs to wipe out all US carriers.

It's just hard as hell to get past all those destroyers and and sons buoys when they're actually looking for subs. Not to mention the luck required to actually get in front of a shifting carrier because it's a bit tough for a sub to chase down a carrier at 35 knots.

The carriers are coming to North Korea, not the other way around. North Korea will have the advantage in that they have planned for this war longer and harder than us and we are on their turf. This won't be a cakewalk like Iraq. The Draft is coming - along with unprecedented civil unrest in America - if the Neocons are stupid enough to attack North Korea.

I wouldn't believe a thing our State Department says about North Korea. Our State Department lies about Putin, lies about Assad, lied about Ukraine, lied us into Iraq, lied us into the Balkans, lied us into Vietnam and went to war in Korea without a mandate from Congress. Harry Truman was an internationalist Freemason who took us to war in Korea with a UN mandate, not a mandate from the American people. That's the source of this mess. God is going to use North Korea to humiliate and punish a Wicked West, just as he used Israel's enemies in the Old Testament to chastise her when she was disobedient to the Covenant. Pride goeth before the Fall.

IDC what you all say. It is entirely plausible that a NK midget sub could attack Hawaii with a nuclear torpedo.

Pearl Harbor Happened and nobody thought it could

4 Planes were hi-jacked on 9/11 and weaponized and nobody thought that would happen.

You failed to learn anything. NK doesn't have any subs that can reach Hawaii. They'd run out of full in 1500 miles.
