the EAMs happen everyday, there routine orders or messages, skykings are more serious and rare, I've been listening on and off for a year or 2, I think the most skykings I ever heard in one days was 4 or 5 around january (i think)

It's an addicting hobby, but it's forever speculation on what is going on. It is exciting when things get busy, or 240 character EAMs.. But in all honesty, we will never know what any of it truly means.

The stuff on 11175 kHz is data mode. I think someone was asking earlier.

If it's diagonal line then it is Ionosonde.

They key the whole spectrum to test propagation.

An Ionosonde (Also known as a chirpsounder or ionospheric sounder) is a radar that examines the Ionosphere and monitors HF propagation conditions by sweeping the HF band and receiving the echoes.

Ionosondes sweep from 1-40Mhz. They send a line of very short pulses up the band. It looks like a slanted line when observed on a waterfall display.

Ionosondes are examples of Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) based radar.
