I haven't had time today to check up on today's events, but what if the power outages were the "simulated EMP?" And the fear spreading AFTER the "scenario" could be highlighted, therefore many brushing a similar future event aside without thought. Imagine what it's going to be like for so many the next "2012." I'll have a hard time boarding that train personally. Basically the same as all these people crying wolf in extremely minor cases. When real racism, facism, etc. really start taking hold, who the hell's going to listen at that point? It's a dangerous game people are doing with our language. There is no accurate way to describe extremes as extremes are being pushed as "normal." And ironically, I am talking about this in regards to a lack of terms that convey a strong enough meaning. I valued curse words for that very reason. McDonald's is not "delicious." Not everything is incredible or amazing (who comes to mind there?). It's really a shame people are trying to simultaneously tear down all the walls of our civil structure here. The same tactics are used across the spectrum it seems. Desensitizing language to where "amazing" means "good" is a topic I've only recently started having a problem with since the current English language can't accurately describe a benzodiazepine withdrawal. Hell on earth, but again, used too commonly! The "crying wolf" is another one that is very concerning in how it could potentially go bad. I mean, who didn't hear a story about this as a kid!? I imagine this is probably how the Holocaust happened. I, for one, do not care for anything of the sort to happen again.
