Reindeer live VIDEO to resume 08.00 CET Wednesday - Reindeer herd of 1500 animals will swim across the ice cold fjord to reach summer pastures

UPDATE: Streaming will resume Wednesday at 08.00 CET (07.00 UK, 2am EST, 11 pm PST).

The deer will then swim the ice cold fjord to cross over to the island of Kvaløya.

Follow a heard of Reindeer minute by minute over a week where the deers migrate from the winter pasture north to the coast where they will swim the fjord to the summer pasture at the island of Kvaløya.

They say a pregnant female is leading, eager to reach the summer pasture before her calf is born. ETA is Tuesday but may be later due to bad weather forecast for Monday.

The stream is produced by NRK and a professional crew in their Slow TV series.

They have a number of camera men on the job using everything from drones to hand held cameras on snow scooters. The Stream is edited and composed in the field, and relayed by the help of a link team that often have to operate from a mountain tops above the live scene.

About 200,000 animals does this migration every spring and fall in Norway only. Similar migrations happens in Russia ever year involving far more animals.
