Well, the best thing about those first pirates mopvies, 1-3 and I like them all, 2 and 3 were made back to back so they did a back to the future on the trilogy and that worked really well I thought. But the best thing, was the classic shipbuilding OP. Not in comic book form, but, creaking timbers, rainbullets going literally sidways at your head while the vessel tilts some 100 degree from side to side? Hah now that's drama.
