Came up in a recent Mass reading, OP.
From John Chapter 12:
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
He seems to imply that not believing is not as bad as rejecting His message.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73568352 Well the thing is, Eternal Life is a gift, you take it or you reject it.
If you decide to not take the gift of Eternal Life how can you then live for ever?

Jesus tells you to come.
I'd say this verse tells you what you need to know:
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Luke 11:10
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Start looking, don't stay with the status quo.
Jesus is knocking on your door:
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
