Same thing as older android phones, do manufacturers including Google spend a lot of time for older phone patches? No, they spend time developing the new versions with patches or work on the vet operating system. From a business point of view it makes sense. The NSA has tools that work, one of those got out. It it beneficial to Microsoft, sure. But what could they have done to stop it, keep the NSA from making hacking tools? Unlikely. |
