NASA Discovers Man-Made Shield Protecting Earth from Radiation
"Conspiracy theorists will no doubt find this news interesting. It seems strange that NASA would discover something like this only just recently, and one can already image the headlines that this may spawn across the web.... Giorgio Tsoukalous might say aliens helped build the shield, while others may focus on the Van Allen belts, where the probe was located that made this discovery, as the belts' brutal conditions are often at the center of moon conspiracy theories. Many moon hoax theorists claim that NASA could not have sent a man to the moon due to the dangerous Van Allen belts. However, considering this new discovery, could this change the story of how we truly were able to navigate the Van Allen belts? After all, it's possible VLF signals were around before the moon landing, according to Wikipedia, which cites an invention of an underwater submarine telephone dating to 1945." Ah, that explains it.

I was looking for a 'transparent dome'... This makes sense.

It will contract on Monday leaving a small area of land able to support life.
