I can feel your pain and certain deception for not being able to trace your past with yourself today (neither I can). But I'm talking about what did life meant to you by then. For me, it was a matter of making friends, play, read, tell to others what I read, scout for girls, kick rocks, make good grades and at the same time being a good SOB, enjoy a movie and thinking how boring was going to be life as I grow up. Very, very wrong! Life was like a "box of chocolats". You couldn't foresee the twisted road ahead (sparing out tragedies). |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 74925300 United States 05/19/2017 09:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have no childhood photos, but I have all of the memories. I was one of a few with the gift (a curse imo) of exceptional memory, and photographic memory. Born in a time and place of change and violent upheaval, chaos and the never-ending struggle for survival. My memories go all the way back to the womb. The first was just the sound of fluid and dull noises from outside... I remember it all, and a great deal of my childhood I would happily give everything I have now to be able to forget... I said I don't have photos, but others do. I don't need nor want them. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74925071 As for past friends, maybe meet for a drink and that's it. Thanks for your advice. I'm getting old and a little bit nostalgic. I lived in many places while I was growing up, so I can't find anyone near to whom I can relate to my past. |

Take this envelope, and don't open it till you get back from a time trip.' Inside would be the account number that had been opened in my name at a time right before I met my future self. The firm had received various sealed instructions on which trades to make over the coming decades. Winning! ;) Last Edited by Kwyjibo on 05/19/2017 10:02 PM |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 74921333 Argentina 05/19/2017 10:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was severely spoiled as a child. I have a sister, older than mine. She was the troublemaker (actually she was the one get caught). God provided me with some talent for self learning and the gift of spoken words, so I managed to fool everyone around me (family, teachers, others). So, more or less, my parents left me on my own being very young (I think they were intimidated by me is some way). Being an adult, near 35 years ago, I watched the movie "War Games" and a phrase stuck on my brain forever: INTELLIGENT WITHOUT AMBITIONS, as an CIA agent described the lead character. I realized that this was what I was, as a child and as an adult! Shame, isn't it? |

It's fascinating to me how much our views about life and the scope of those views evolve over time. |

Sorry, I messed up. Opening the envelope during the time travel event would have worked better, with instructions of what to put in the sealed instructions at the firm, as well as to copy the contents of the original envelope and pass them along to young-me. The objective, of course, is to ensure a bootstrap paradox instead of an alternate timeline, that way, the money's waiting for me when I get back to my time. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 74921333 Argentina 05/19/2017 10:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Left alone in life, being 63 yo, I sometimes wonder if photos are not implanted pics of a life I don't recall most of times. And, for worse, I have no references to checkout with, because my family travelled so much. No roots. Yet, I choose to believe there was a time when I was happy and things were incredible simpler than now. No problems handling current events. Just tired of all this shit! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 58446361 United States 05/19/2017 10:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First, I usually remember the event the photo was taken at. If I'm with my siblings, I'll remember whatever jokes we had at the time, that sort of thing. Then, I notice the clothes I have on. My mother sewed a lot of what I wore, and I still have memories of some of the fabric patterns. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 74921333 Argentina 05/19/2017 11:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We all were! If we filter bad things, for shure we are going to enjoy our lives as connections from one good thing to the next. If we DON'T think that way, we have to manage to sequence life photos in a pleasant way for our memories, even when we struggle to get out of missery all of our lives. I believe that resentments are based on bad indoctrination, internal or external. Our ADN carries the goodwill, I think, and it's up to ourselves to make peace with our bad memories and live the rest of our lives in peace. We deserve that, at least, for crossing this dessert called life! |

She went a little bit obsessed and designed cloths for everyone, even our pet. And she refused to buy us beautiful cashmir pullovers and the like. That was child abusse (LOL) |

What is and ambition, what you want it to be, say my ambition was to marry and have a house full of children, I did not get the house full but married and children I got. I love to invent in my thoughts, I draw them and talk about them. Mostly I think about what could help others who have problems with mobility. I always believed thoughts travel, they making what I started long ago, one of my nieces said, looking at one of my very old ones, that they stole my idea, no I told here Ideas are for giving away. True, the light bulb was invented almost one every continent at the same time, cars and planes, too. What is ambition but a thought, just what you want it to be nothing more or less. I want to love people as The Lord God and His Son said, too. Even pray for the enemy for if the enemy find The Lord God, then he will be no enemy but a brother to me. Sorry I got a headache These are the times that tries men's and women's souls! May we come though it victorious! |
