When you SEE a picture of yourself when you were a child, what thoughts come to your mind?

Re: When you SEE a picture of yourself when you were a child, what thoughts come to your mind?
I had a difficult childhood

One would not see it if they looked at the few pics there
Are
They would see a well dressed kid
Clean well fed
And think
That kid was loved by its mother

One pic sticks out in particular
When I was 4
My mother was angry I cried getting my hair combed
So she cut my hair really short with a pair of
Garden shears

I went to school that day an hour later about and had
My pic taken

Re: When you SEE a picture of yourself when you were a child, what thoughts come to your mind?
I was severely spoiled as a child. I have a sister, older than mine. She was the troublemaker (actually she was the one get caught).

God provided me with some talent for self learning and the gift of spoken words, so I managed to fool everyone around me (family, teachers, others).

So, more or less, my parents left me on my own being very young (I think they were intimidated by me is some way).

Being an adult, near 35 years ago, I watched the movie "War Games" and a phrase stuck on my brain forever: INTELLIGENT WITHOUT AMBITIONS, as an CIA agent described the lead character.

I realized that this was what I was, as a child and as an adult! Shame, isn't it?

Do you still learn? What is and ambition, what you want it to be, say my ambition was to marry and have a house full of children, I did not get the house full but married and children I got. I love to invent in my thoughts, I draw them and talk about them. Mostly I think about what could help others who have problems with mobility. I always believed thoughts travel, they making what I started long ago, one of my nieces said, looking at one of my very old ones, that they stole my idea, no I told here Ideas are for giving away. True, the light bulb was invented almost one every continent at the same time, cars and planes, too. What is ambition but a thought, just what you want it to be nothing more or less. I want to love people as The Lord God and His Son said, too. Even pray for the enemy for if the enemy find The Lord God, then he will be no enemy but a brother to me.

My dear friend. I think I learn every day. Different things at different stages of my life, like producing objects or line of thought.

I have no childs, but I don´t regret it as of many of other decisions/facts that shaped my life till now.

I'm proud of NOT looking back. It´s a waste of time and soul.

As always in my life, I've not devised projects. I let them happens, and they do. I keep my mind sharp and educated (I'm an engineer), but also trade off efforts vs. rewards, what makes me an speculative lazy person, and it turns that I'm right in the long way.

There is one flame that keeps me going, and is UNDERSTANDING and this need keeps me alive.

I need to understand the big picture of things, no more, no less.

I grew up in the 70's...
Within the surreal depths of "reality" lies the truth.

Re: When you SEE a picture of yourself when you were a child, what thoughts come to your mind?
The world has changed so much and I haven't changed at all.

People who haven't seen me for many years tend to exclaim that I haven't changed at all.

My expression, even as a small child, looks the same as now.

Profound experiences change people, I suppose, but I never have any profound experiences.

Or rather, I always stood profoundly apart from the world, with no experience able to shake me or bother me. I had none of those rites of passage, or traumas, or anything to change my ideas or my world view.

It is something that always bothered people about me, and it would prompt some people to say I wasn't human.

Sometimes I would even catch myself thinking to myself that I couldn't understand these humans, and then I would wonder where those thoughts come from.

Why did humans worry about things?

Why were they afraid of death?

Why did they do things they didn't want to do?

Why did they complain that they couldn't stop doing things?

Were they lying? Fooling themselves?

And again, I would wonder why I was thinking of humans as something alien.

Maybe people who said I wasn't human were on to something.

But the things in the photos change so much!

The places and everything in them are unrecognizable today as the same places.

That's the sort of thing that strikes me.

The world of my childhood is so gone!

One day, the whole world will dissolve, but I will go on the same as always.

In heaven or hell, I continue to be my unchanging self.

I look at pictures of myself as a child and I think, "they should have put him in girls' clothes and given him estrogen pills and testosterone blocking pills, because "he" is not a real man!

No, no, no again, as with other fellow!

Don't regret what you are now. There are no clean bridges with your pastself. We construct road and bridges to our future, based in facts, fortune, disgrace and other means of life.

When you think too much on who you are, you are weakening the foundations of your past self that drove you here and now.

Making an assumption based on a memory or a photo violates the NON LINEAR path of life, wich is umpredictable.

Define you as a self right now, and go forward withouth regrets, based on this "today pic of you and your surroundings".

If a doubt or a phantom of the past strikes you, just put it down and bury it. This is the way an stable way of living is constructed. Kill your phamtoms an soon as they happens.

Good riddance!

I think, "That poor kid. I wish I could reach back in time and coach him."
