I hate to be the only one who saw the entire truth here. It is obvious the mother of Laura Palmer, controlling demon, is was and forever will be the entire cause of all the nonsense this show was.

banishing her daughter and cornfielding anyone who tried to figure out what happened, even creating a second dimension...all to punish her whore daughter for fucking the motorbikeman.

she is judy. duh. look at the daughters reaction when she heard her mother call to her at the end and freaked the fuck out once she remembered who her mother was (demon like all mothers)

i think Twin Peaks is relevant to the greater story, we are finding a way out of the infinity loop. i have written three long posts explaining why Cooper only partially succeeded in saving Laura Palmer. i was banned each time. i finally figured out it was the word R-E-T-R-O-C-A-U-S-A-L-I-T-Y. GLP doesn't like this word because they are enslaved to Judy.

Interesting to note that just like Naido,

Candie, Sandie, and Mandie are all anagrams for Diane.

My mother's name is Judy. And now Judy/Jiao Dai is THE mother? Ahhhh, hell.
Hey Beast, tell more about this Twin Peaks: The Curtain Call. Is that a for sure thing? That is great news if so. I feel kinda lost now that The Return is over.
Also, remember this movie?

sheriff andy got programmed somehow. deputy? what is he, the show goes so slowfast it is hard to keep up. goddamn, one might think the artist lynch was trying to portray cooper, going through time to save a woman who had already died, and what we see is all of the opposing forces attempting to create a viable reality based around a missing piece of data...laura palmer's death.

so like the clown theory makes sense, but it is kind of like ....i dunno, someone pulls a bunch of bricks from a wall and a bunch of pieces are trying to hold the wall up themselves without outside help. like a universal mind thing healing itself

Also, I don't have the technology to watch Episode 17 and 18 at the same time. Has anyone made a video of both at the same time? Or could someone dm me and tell me what the REAL ending is?

Something I have been wondering about is why Mike, after all that time and effort he put into trying to be reunited with Bob, he didn't even mention him in the end, or that he was dead?

Is Cooper somehow Bob? They were reunited in the end when Cooper goes through the boiler room door.

While thinking about Audrey, I conclude she was still in the coma (at least until that final scene) because if she had been awakened, she would have told people who the father of Richard was.

As it stood, I'm pretty sure that if she had told John Justice Wheeler that he was the father, he would have taken some responsibility for the child, if not taken him with him to look after.

Pete was the only one who knew she had sex with Wheeler and he got blown up in the bank explosion, so if he grew up without a father, as Ben said, it must have been because nobody knew who the father was.

I'm sure it will top many a persons wish list. :)

At David Lynch's first public appearance in Belgrade since TPTR finished, her said this about it's future -

"Whether there will be a 4th season of Twin Peaks is too early to say", he told the crowd, adding that if the series would continue, fans would have to be extremely patient. Again. “It took me four and a half years to write and film this season.”

As for Audrey's fate he had this to say -

“What matters is what you believe happened,” he clarified. “Many things in life just happen and we have to come to our own conclusions. You can, for example, reashep supporterk that raises a series of questions, and you want to talk to the author, but he died a hundred years ago. That’s why everything is up to you.”

As for TPTR, it's still unclear about what exactly happened to Sarah and when. It's just speculation at this point.

just in the dream world, which presumably is where twin peaks takes place. In whole or in part...ya know. The mother would be the A #1 and we all live under her reign regardless. No true freedom, she is all and everything, every time. She will lie cheat and steal to make sure she has firm grasp of all her people and any other people she can grab up and control.

The archetype of "mother" just hasn't been explored nearly enough in psychology and dreams and the boundaries a mother can psychically impose on every living thing.

the whole world and most psychic sectors are run and controlled and manipulated not by the female force but by the mother force, I PROMISE YOU THIS. Lynch is well aware, lol

Re: TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN - Discuss the past, present and future of all things Twin Peaks
Hey All!

Sorry, it's been a busy week or so and I - not really by choice - had to then take a few days off. Most of my spare time has been devoted to writing some new songs. And when I get that calling, everything else has to fall by the wayside. I couldn't really do that while Twin Peaks: The Return was airing. But real life - including family, friends and the band - have to take that top priority spot at all times now.

I'm glad to see that things have changed a little bit - from people confused and disappointed with the finale to people discussing it and trying to figure out just what it all means. Though we haven't seen esoteric Morgan since the finale, have we? Hopefully, we'll hear from her soon or already have and I just haven't gotten to her messages yet.

Speaking of messages, it's time for me to check out some new ones from you guys. Friday was a big breakthrough in understanding things for me. Between syncing up the last two parts into one hour long finale and digging deeper into just what The Jumping Man is, I feel like the answers to Twin Peaks are beginning to reveal themselves. And I think that I've figured out some more.

So let's get to some more of your messages and see what kind of new Twin Peaks theories we can get ourselves into...

Further thoughts...

Harry S Truman was president when the USA tested the atomic bomb in New Mexico (episode 8), and then bombed Japan.

Harry S Truman - Sheriff of twin Peaks.

It used to be assumed this was just coincidence. Do we need to look more at this connection now that they are linked?
 Quoting: keybored

Probably not. Sorry, just being "Frank" with you.

TPFrank

Really out of field musings here, but is TP the story of a rapist and the person he raped and that both are trying to come to terms with it or deal with the situation?

With the Diane/Naido connection, is the fact that Laura is an anagram of Aural relevant? Laura hears her name at the end and screams.

"Diane" is the first thing Dale Cooper says in the show.

We have Dale, who shows no emotion and Diane who clearly isn't enjoying the sex, so it brings up the question of why they did it? If it wasn't a sex magic ritual to cross over, is it because they are replaying their roles again and again till he realises what he did wrong to her and her to come to terms with what happened?
 Quoting: keybored

Now you're starting to sound like Michael J. Anderson.

But I do hear what you are saying. Rape does play an important role on the show. There was Evil Cooper raping Audrey when she was in a coma, Evil Cooper raping Diane when he went to her house, the whole mess starting with Leland Palmer raping his own daughter.

Of course, rape was the MO - "modus operandi" - for BOB in general. Him and Mike killed and raped until Mike had some kind of religious epiphany, saw the face of God, and cut off his own arm in order to stop the evil once and for all.

Beast, I'm reading through your posts and will update a little later. Thank you so much for the information on Marjorie Cameron! Diane really does look like her!

I was just reading a small biography on her and apparently Parsons called her Candida, and "Candy" as a nickname.

She was also a chain smoker like Diane. Yet another interesting connection.

I knew that she smoked like a chimney. I just plain forgot to put it my earlier message. I read a LOT about this stuff a few years ago. I even reashep supporterk all about her. But I hadn't remembered the "Candida" part. VERY interesting.

And just look at the two of them side-by-side...

every mandala naturally divides into quarters. The N.E.W.S. north, east, west and south. suppose you sight thru the scope of your rifle and could only see three-quarters of the whole picture, you'd be unwise to take a shot.
 Quoting: Shadow Nose 52485362

That definitely would NOT be a very good "mandala effect".

Oh, don't get me wrong BEAST333, I loved 18 also and thought it was a fantastically brilliant way to end the show, especially the way it built up to the arrival at Sarah's house and what then happened, but 17 gave us Coop and most of the gang back together, fleeting though that moment was.

He gave everyone the ending they wanted, depending on which they chose to pick.

I plan on re-watching both episodes today or tomorrow so will have more thoughts on it all then. My head is still spinning for now lol
 Quoting: keybored

Mine too. And I can tell that this is an older message. I'm sure that you're way past this point already.

And I knew what you meant. I know that you are a true fan like myself. And it did feel a little "off". That's the main reason that I started thinking about watching it differently. Someone told me that somebody else online was also talking about watching Parts 17 and 18 together. Maybe somebody over at TV Guide? I don't know. I need to look into it after I catch up on the thread here. I'm going to start looking more online into what other people are saying later in the week. I haven't had a real good chance to do that yet. But I've been seeing more and more people linking up scenes over on YouTube like we've talked about here since it started. So, I think it's only a matter of time until it becomes something else. I need to get some software so that I can play with it more. Right now, I'm going off of the Showtime website to play with link points. I know that every time I find something new or read something that you or Sweetroll throw out on the thread that I hadn't thought of yet, it just keeps making it better and better. The deeper we dig, the better it seems to get.

Soon, we're going to need to start compiling a list of all of the possible link points.

Major Briggs has always reminded me of Van Morrison, the great singer and mystic. and the waitress in Judy's was played by Clint Eastwood's daughter. by chance i had seen her in a movie the night before the finale, it was called The Vault, about a bank robbery at a haunted bank. she has such a unique face and interesting acting style, i'm surprised she's not a superstar.
the address of the Palmer house is a number that reduces to 6, number of The Hex. these and other thoughts have crossed my weary mind and i post them in case anybody can relate.
 Quoting: Shadow Nose 75493039

Major Briggs has always been more of a Major Tom to me. But I'm sure that he had his share of "astral weeks". And hey, if you're on the same "wavelength", that's cool.

Sorry about the dead link for the video! Found another one...

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]
 Quoting: Sweetroll Bandit

It's interesting that you put this here because I was JUST about to go back and rewatch that scene myself. Though for completely different reasons.

Like I pointed out before, Agent Cooper is NOT wearing his FBI pin during this scene. So it is NOT really happening. It is a dream. I have some new thoughts about all of this which I will get to in full at the end of this message.

I love all the Jack Parsons references.

But in the end its all about the dream. The whole of season 3 appears to be nothing but a dream, with several dreamers within this dream(Laura, Audrey, and Cooper). But who is the primary dreamer of season 3 and where is that person in reality(or at least the reality of seasons 1&2)?

This video makes a very strong case, based primarily on the scene in the sheriff's office in episode 17, and the very last scene of season 3, which takes us back to the Black Lodge and Laura whispering in Agent Cooper's ear. The primary dreamer is Cooper and it would appear that he has never left the Black Lodge.

Another good theory to throw in the mix.

 Quoting: Dougie Jones

Oh my! I thought for sure that this would be the EXACT same thing that I was about to say. But it isn't. Still, I think it's time for me to try and get what's in my head out and onto the pages of this thread. I'll start with this post.

Yeah, Jack Parsons was mentioned in The Secret History Of Twin Peaks. As was sex magick rituals. That stuff is obviously part of the Twin Peaks mythos now. And I think it explains a LOT.

Last weekend, as I was busy doing all sorts of things - including going to the funeral of a friend's grandfather - I had a LOT of time to think about things. And, of course, among pondering my own mortality and going through what you go through in these situations, my mind wandered back to Twin Peaks. And I came to the exact same conclusion - it is ALL about the dream and the dreamer who lives inside the dream.

And Cooper IS the dreamer!

But that's where I stop agreeing with that video. That and all of the Tibetan Bardo realm stuff. It's interesting. It's there - Agent Cooper was WAY into Tibetan philosophy - but I don't think that it needs to be explored any further. Though it is interesting stuff, nonetheless. It's pretty much the first full theory that I've allowed myself to listen to (I'm STILL digging into my own research into what it all means and trying not to pay any attention to theories that aren't by close family and friends that I can't really avoid).

So here's where my poor little pea brain has led me in the past few days...

COOPER'S FBI PIN

Going back to my own theories from weeks ago, I started following that damn FBI pin again. And I suddenly realized that the FBI pin was how you can tell exactly who it is that you are watching on the screen - whether or not it's the REAL Agent Cooper who is trapped in The Black Lodge or the Agent Cooper that has entered the REAL Agent Cooper's dream world.

FIRE WALK WITH ME - THE RESET

Following the pin, the Agent Cooper that was in the Philadelphia FBI offices was the REAL Agent Cooper. The Agent Cooper that we see trapped in The Waiting Room/The Red Room/The Black Lodge at the end of Fire Walk With Me is dreaming. He has no FBI pin on as he stands next to a happy Laura Palmer flanked by her Guardian Angel. This scene apparently isn't real. It is Agent Cooper's projection of a "happy ending" for Laura since he had failed her so miserably.

TWIN PEAKS - THE RESET

Annie Blackburn - Tulpa or not - was used to lure Agent Cooper into The Waiting Room where he ended up being sent to The Black Lodge due to the imperfect courage that he entered with. This happened at the end of season two. There, Agent Cooper was stuck for the last twenty-five years wrestling with the being that Hawk had warned him about - The Dweller On The Threshold OR Agent Cooper's Shadow Self. The ONLY way to conquer his Shadow Self and escape would be for Agent Cooper to devise a dream world that he could then live inside of and which would allow him to somehow change time. Making it so that he NEVER went inside The Black Lodge to begin with. Once he lost his battle with his Shadow Self - which he did when we watched him get caught by it inside The Black Lodge at the end of the season two finale - the dream world scenario was the ONLY way for Cooper to ever escape The Black Lodge. He knew that dreams would work because Lodge denizens had used dreams in the past to communicate with HIM. So Cooper began devising a dream world and practiced controlling it. Starting with him and Annie leaving The Black Lodge with her wearing Caroline Earle's dress and him becoming Evil Cooper.

TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN - THE RESET

That brings us to the latest installment - Twin Peaks: The Return. This one starts out with a dream scene - Agent Cooper receiving the clues from The Fireman. We know that it's a dream scene because Agent Cooper is NOT wearing his FBI pin. From that point on, he's wearing the FBI pin until he is sent into the "non-exist-ent" world and then goes through Electrical Outlet #3 in the room with American Girl. From that point all the way up until the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Department goes dark - right after Freddie Sykes kills BOB with his green grocers glove - everything is a dream. Cooper's dream. His means of escape from The Black Lodge that he has been trapped in for a quarter of a century.

WHEN AGENT COOPER'S DREAM ENDS

After the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Department goes dark, Agent Cooper is left heading downstairs to the furnace room in the Great Northern Hotel - the place that BOB used to get in and out of The Waiting Room/The Black Lodge long before Laura Palmer hung the picture up in her bedroom in February of 1989 and access was gained from the other dimension directly to the Palmer house (like it is/was currently). The room off of the furnace room in the basement of the Great Northern Hotel appears to lead directly to the area "above the Convenience Store". Everything and everybody else has faded away at this point except for FBI Deputy Director Gordon Cole and Diane Evans. There seems to be a strong existential tie between these two and Agent Cooper that goes WAY beyond time and space. Cooper is able to talk to them even though the dream has ended. Either that, or it is some kind of dream within a dream, but one in which Agent Cooper still wears his FBI pin.

THE PHILLIP JEFFRIES INFINITY LOOP RESET

The figure "8" Infinity Loop that is shown to Agent Cooper and Phillip Gerard by the Phillip Jeffries Cháhú is turned around and the "stone" - the marker on the Infinity Loop - is then moved back to where it was before. A complete - as well as an inverted - reset. This has to mean something. Cooper is now on the other side of the Infinity Loop. Think of the Infinity loop like a cassette tape. It is a single strip, but completely different material can be recorded on each side of it.

LOSING LAURA PALMER - AGAIN!

Agent Cooper loses Laura in the woods twice after saving her. The first time is in Part 17. You can see Jack Rabbits Palace in the background at one point - Cooper is obviously trying to bring her back to The White Lodge. Then the sound that The Foreman warned him about in the beginning is heard and Laura is suddenly gone. Cooper tries it all over again and gets to the same place and begins taking Laura someplace else. There's no sign of Jack Rabbit's Palace this time. And Cooper loses her again. Cooper is desperate now. The end game is within sight. He has taken care of BOB and all he needs to do now is succeed in returning Laura Palmer to her home. But Cooper appears to now be in some kind of pocket universe - one in which Laura Palmer had been hidden away as Carrie Page.

CORRECTION: CARRIE PAGE

I thought it was Carrie "Paige". I'm not sure why. I swear, I looked at the credits and saw "Paige". That's why I thought that there might be some relation to Beverly and Tom Paige. At any rate, it's listed both in the credits as well as on IMDB as Carrie Page. So, I will ask the question again - is this the missing "page" that we have been wondering about all these years?

CORRECTION: RICHARD COOPER

So things have been reset. FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper never went to the town of Twin Peaks. And, therefore, he never entered The Waiting Room/The Black Lodge and, therefore, he never released his doppelgänger into the world. Which means that his doppelgänger is now back inside of him. It always was just a reflection of the dark side of Agent Cooper. Now, it has NEVER been released. In the new reality, Cooper appears to have entered the life of someone named Richard. So this is a completely new and different Agent Cooper once again. He's part our beloved Agent Cooper, part the Evil Cooper that lives deep within Agent Cooper's psyche, and part Richard - just like Dougie Cooper was part Dougie Jones. Or something like that. He now seems to be somewhere in the middle of the different Cooper's that we got used to seeing during Twin Peaks: The Return.

DREAM WITHIN A DREAM

Now here's where it starts getting a little tricky. Just how far does all of this dream stuff go? What's with the Audrey Horne stuff. There's a good chance that Audrey is either in a coma, in a nuthouse, or in this latest universe that Richard and Linda are in. OR she could also be a dreamer. Perhaps we were watching more than one dreamscape during Twin Peaks: The Return. Whatever the case, I'd say that there's a good chance that some of the people that she was talking about are people that we know under a different name. Maybe Tina is really Shelly. Maybe Billy is really Bobby. In a recent interview, Lynch mentioned that Audrey's ending was purposely left to our own imaginations.

THE SECRET HISTORY OF TWIN PEAKS

Now the book that came out last year suddenly comes into play. No matter when the events of Twin Peaks: The Return occurred, FBI Agent Tammy Preston was never in Buckhorn, South Dakota. None of that stuff happened - it was apparently all a dream of Agent Cooper's. We know that somehow Tammy becomes a Special Agent by August of 2016 - probably when she is promoted to the Blue Rose Task Force - but that is all just speculation. We don't know ANYTHING for sure about Tammy's history at this point since none of what we saw involving her actually occurred. And if she was dreamed up by Agent Cooper, how can she then actually exist? Did Gordon mention her within a dreamscape with Cooper and then Cooper made his own character out of the name? That would explain her oddness. And would also mean that if we see Tammy again, she will be played by a different actress. Because Cooper never actually met her. Yet somehow Tammy does end up with the dossier from The Secret History Of Twin Peaks and begins investigating what happened to Agent Dale Cooper in the town of Twin Peaks. To me, this is a brand new dilemma to ponder.

THE PART 17/PART 18 SYNC UP

I don't know if anybody has posted the new way to view the finale yet (with Parts 17 & 18 synced up). GGAllin was asking me to post it the other day - and I was going to since somebody did finally upload it to YouTube the other day - but it seems like ALL videos of the two parts synced up have been removed from the internet over the weekend. I can't find one. I'll keep looking. But you can do it by hand in two windows on a computer by going to the Showtime website.

Executive Producer Sabrina Sutherland has stated that "this is definitely not the way to watch these parts", but that may not be completely true. I have also heard that they can be watched one on top of the other if you have the right software - which I don't. So maybe THAT'S why she said what she said. The mashup of the two final parts DEFINITELY adds a whole other element to the finale.

THE FUTURE OF TWIN PEAKS

Meanwhile, David Lynch is giving interviews and basically saying that if we really want more Twin Peaks, we might very well get it, but it might take him a few years to get it done right. I'll find something to post about this if nobody else does (I've still gotta catch up on this thread so that I know what has already been posted).

R.I.P. HARRY

Someone has probably posted about this - and I'm sure that most of you have heard by now - but I was very sad to hear about the death of Harry Dean Stanton on Friday. He was, indeed, one of the great actors of our day. And he was phenomenal as Carl Rodd in Twin Peaks. He will be missed!

Well, time to go back to my real life "dream" for now. I hope to be back and more regular with postings this week. Talk to you all REAL soon...

Re: TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN - Discuss the past, present and future of all things Twin Peaks
Hi BEAST333. Nice to see you back posting again.

Now you're starting to sound like Michael J. Anderson.

God I hope not lol.

What I meant was in the same way that Mullholland Drive and Lost highway were about the murder they commited, could TP be about a rape that occured?

Well it wouldn't be David Lynch if it left me in my comfort zone and that's why I love him and TP so much. No other show pulls all those emotions and imagination out of you after watching them. Some, like Mr Robot, come close but none ever touch in the same way

I'm wondering if Mrs Tremont is actually a manifestation of Judy, given how and where she has appeared and that she gave Laura that picture?
