Great idea to save all that money, to spend on wars and give to the rich, some of the money must trickle down.

Yes, I sure can...it tells me the private sector got ##ucked, while the government grew at the private sectors expense. And now...the private sector is trying oh so hard to climb out of the ##hit hole, but keeps getting drawn back because the government sector doesn't want to let go. Why? Because it (Government) can not survive without the private sector taking it in the ###ss & handing over money. How'd I do?

Even CNN, the outfit that hates Donald Trump more than any on earth probably, reported this.

just remember, class warfare what communism is really all about. Bottom up, Top down. Trump is top down. America is the most class conscious people in the world, you will NEVER see people with such vicious loathing and contempt for the poor of their own country in any other nation. just because there's these social programs , that's just because of the old christian ethics of America from 50 years ago. running up 20 trillion in debt is not kindness. the rich get richer off medicaid, it all goes to the medical industry not to the poor to spend.

I see nothing wrong if one needs a helping hand, I give back,& it doesn't surprise me so many needed a helping hand with that so called president we had the pleasure of getting rid of, now it's time to clean-up....build up, the mess he left us with. But i still think we should have started with the inflated salaries the congressman/women, receive, & stop with paying them when they are out of office. They can build their own retirement just like the rest of us.

This article says that most immigrants are on welfare.

It use to be that you had to show that you could take care of yourself and your family before you were allowed to come to America. That changed a few decades ago and we have been flooded ever since with people looking for tax payers to leech off of. All these stupid poor minority liberals who are against Trump's wall should keep their collective mouths shut since these illegals are taking their jobs and driving down wages.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10166722

The USAToday article was interesting. Now, keep in mind that I really don't have an opinion on this issue, but I have friends and loved ones that fall on both sides of the issue.

I did notice that this article offered an opposing viewpoint to the main premise: "Chavez said today's immigrants, like all other immigrant waves in the country's history, start off poorer and have lower levels of education, making it unfair to compare their welfare use to the long-established native-born population. She said immigrants have larger households, making it more likely that one person in that household will receive some kind of welfare benefit. And she said many benefits counted in the study are going to U.S.-born children of immigrants, skewing the findings even more."

And then I went to the Economic Policy Institute [link to www.epi.org]

And found this article that started with: "While immigration is among the most important issues the country faces, misperceptions persist about fundamental aspects of this crucial topic—such as the size and composition of the immigrant population, how immigration affects the economy and the workforce, the budgetary impact of unauthorized immigration, why increasing numbers of unaccompanied migrant children are arriving at the United States’ Southwest border, and the various facets of U.S. labor migration policy. This FAQ provides essential background on these topics."

Further down in the article it said: "One way to quantify immigrants’ contribution to the U.S. economy is to look at the wages and salaries they earn, as well as the income of immigrant-owned businesses, as a share of all wages, salaries, and business income in the United States. (See Table 1.) For the United States as a whole, immigrants’ share of total output was about 14.7 percent over 2009–2011. Note that this is actually larger than immigrants’ 13 percent share of the population."

And then further in, it mentioned this:
Total wage, salary, and business income (2011$) Share
Total population $5,042,277,015,987 100.0%
U.S. born $4,298,840,505,997 85.3%
Immigrant $743,436,509,990 14.7%

This is why I don't have a strong opinion. It seems that as a whole, the immigrant community is carrying its weight, but then there are incidental expenses like healthcare in the form of emergency room visits, and homelessness. And I am also very concerned about the drug gangs south of the border.

It's amazing. People bitch and moan about entitlements, entitlements, entitlements and socialism, socialism, socialism but hands off social security.

Aka the biggest socialist program in this country
Aka ~25% of the ENTIRE FEDERAL BUDGET

Snap is what, like 1-4% annually?

How is that going to do anything but piss off poor people and get them to hate the right even more than they already do?

Gotta think long-term, Mr. President..
 Quoting: MFiera

In fiscal year 2015, military spending is projected to account for 54 percent of all federal discretionary spending, a total of $598.5 billion. Military spending includes: all regular activities of the Department of Defense; war spending; nuclear weapons spending; international military assistance; and other Pentagon-related spending.

some of those obese peoole may not know it, but the pain meds they are taking cld be the cause of the weight gain ... as many of those cause weight gain and doctors apparently dont seem to warn of the side effect or tske note when people hv gained weight ... better to put up with the pain and not gain the weight, bc as you indicated it can led to other conditions

Yikes - it's dangerous to take away food stamps, healthcare, and welfare from the dirt poor, unless you want guns pointed at you on the streets, and a lot more robberies and thefts happening. This is a bad idea. Giving them this free shit keeps them on the other side of the tracks.

I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73167582

i know (not closely) three people who are on disability for mental illness issues and while you might think all of them cld work, with one of them the only time the person is safe to be around is when medicated and the medication renders the person too tired to function and when not on meds = crazytown dangerous ... the other two one might think cld work, but one gets bad bouts of debilitating depression, depite medication, which wld interfere with any job and the other can be aggresive nasty bitchy personality wise in-between apologizing for behavior that i dont see how anyone wld keep the person employed ... way too unstable and unpleasant to be around (maybe bc never learned boundaries or as a result of drugs done when younger or life or bc underlying personality disorder, idk)

hving had infections which crossed blood brain barrier and caused erratic neuro-psych symptoms myself, i cannot imagine living like that my entire life. i really feel badly for these people, but i dont want to be around them (wld be different if you loved someone though as long as they werent destructive to your life), not for any extended amount of time .... wld not want to work with someone like that ... responding angrily without knowing why when normally you are a laid back chill person ... and not really being able to stop oneself from those negative impulses which wldnt even happen normally is not easy to deal with at all ... being like that ones whole life? not good....must be really hard (if they are able to be aware of it) ... one of these people was a cleaning lady for me for awhile ... i cld not put up with her, so if i cldnt put up with someone like that doing a cleaning job, how is someone like that going to hv stable employment (i generally give people a long lead and am pretty understanding)

it is not easy for these folks to get on disability and the money is not much at all, esp. if they didnt work or work long enough to get ssd vs. ssi.

we shld actually be providing MORE for these people, not less.

The life expectancy of a democracy.
By: Alexander Tyler a professor of history at the University of Edinburgh, in Scotland,
1887.

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent
form of government.

A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.

From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.

During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back to bondage.”

Many think this is a bad thing, but according to the Bible, those who won't work, won't eat.

Forcing people to once again be responsible for themselves breaks the chains of communism and re-establishes strong self willed, self made, hard working, respectful people once again.

The only thing that the Illuminati fear is a strong man who is NOT dependent on the Government to survive in any way.

“If America could be, once again, a nation of self-reliant farmers, craftsmen, hunters, ranchers and artist, then the rich would have little power to dominate others. Neither to serve nor to rule. That was the American Dream”.
