so trump takes 193 billion in food stamps from poor peoplw and gives Saudi Arabia a 193 billion dollar deal?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69625429

Saudi Arabia is paying for it. He's not giving it away!

He'll certainly not take it from people who need it. He'll take it from the drug users and the immigrants and illegals. It's only common sense.
 Quoting: nutmeg

i am guessing in 10 years time there are expected to be less illegals on welfare, affordable free market healthcare and an exponential increase in american jobs. which makes this slash over time perfectly reasonable.

dont forget the bloat in state and federal workers who could use to find work elsewhere. ie their jobs are duplicitous

Re: Trump budget will slash $193 billion in Food Stamps and $800 billion in Medicaid over 10 Years.
I have personally seen:
1. Drug addicts selling their food stamps in front of the grocery store (Kankakee Illinois and Mesa, Arizona)
2. Mexicans pulling out food stamp cards from four different states (Galveston, Texas)
3. People loading up their carts with solely candy and cokes (bourbonnais, illinois) and paying with food stamps.

I wrote my congressman, Dick Durbin and asked that food stamp recipients be allowed to only purchase nutritious foods.

HIS personal reply was : "I dont have time to consider what foods food stamp recipients purchase"

I then learned that Coke and Pepsi donate millions to the elections. THAT is why food stamp recipients can buy unhealthy foods.

The entire system needs to be revamped. No food stamps. Twice a month healthy, locally-grown food is passed out. Show your ID and your drug-free piss-test results and pick it up.

Enough is enough.

Good. But this is only a start. This isn't enough to move the US out of its deficit.

Next stop, slash the military by shutting down 50% of overseas bases within 10 years.

You dont want to starve get a Job, you want healthcare get a Job, that simple.

Over $1 Trillion A YEAR is being spent on welfare and entitlements right now. $193 billion in Food Stamps and $800 billion in Medicaid over 10 Years isn't near enough. It's still unsustainable, and our nation's debt will continue to rise.

Food stamp and Medicaid enrollees skyrocketed during Obama's reign. I don't know the exact figures on Medicaid, but it was massively expanded through Obamacare. Food stamps doubled under Obama because not only did his economy suck ass, but his administration specifically targeted it for expansion and heavily advertised it like a business trying to grow. Having to rely on government to eat use to be an embarrassing shame to anyone who legitimately needed that much help. Obama made it sound like a healthy natural lifestyle that everyone should participate in.

If they would stop taking so much out of people's checks for the corporate welfare, that every person has to pay regardless of income, it would put them in higher income tax brackets and just be denied food stamps in the first place...So why not do both?
 Quoting: Loops

So you believe that our checks will grow from them cutting benefits. That's laughable.

Also, for all who have criticized welfare recipients, do you not realize that these are seniors who lack enough money for food, and for those still feeling the burn from the last 8 years? I am going to be very careful about what I say about this food stamp matter, as I might end up in that situation.

Also, those on high horses should realize that pretty soon, the food supply will be cut off for all of us. Wake up. See the signs that are before us. We're almost there.
 Quoting: Ms. Superduper

See this is where the problem is at.

first the food won't be cut off for everyone, what will happen is they will stop the EBT from working, causing the slaves to the Welfare system to go crazy and riot, steal, destroy, this is the plan.

why do you think the demoturds, destroy jobs and raise Welfare benefits? because they make the people believe they have to be on Welfare, which in turn makes them Slaves.

What happens when your on welfare?

first thing is you rely on it to pay rent, buy food, pay electric bill, etc...

So every month you are waiting for this money, just to live.

So you basically have to do exactly what the Government says, or you are fucked.

now what will happen when the Government can't afford to pay this welfare out every month?

will these people starve? will they be kicked out because no money for rent? no lights?

So you see when you are on Welfare you are relying on the Government and hope and pray they can pay each month.

when you have a JOB, you can have money saved for emergency, or at the most have to wait for your next pay check.

who would want to have to rely on the Government? there will come a day when that money will not be there.

people who can work need to go find a job, don't wait until it's to late.

If all the last ones would work, then it would make it easier to give to the ones who truly was it.

I know a lady who is 67, she gets 650 a month retirement, she is disabled, she gets Medicare, she also gets section 8. theyy give her a whopping 21 dollars a month In food stamps.

So she pays 60 a month for rent, 60 electric, 30 water. then gas, and food. ins. etc...

So yes she survives and may have a few dollars each month left over. like maybe 50 dollar.

this is some one needs assistance.

I also knew a family who had 3 kids, the mom or dad did not work, they received section 8, 800 in food stamps, 950 cash, electric help, Medicaid, etc...

They paid 100 dollars for rent.

now did they need help?

Even if they did, maybe for a little while, but they had 5 years to get a job got to college, get some training.

5 years came and gone, they lost the cash assistance, they still received food stamps.and Medicaid.

They ended in a homeless shelter.

They bitched and moaned about the 5 year rule that Maine had for cash assistance.

I haven't seen them in abouut 10 years so do not know where they are today, I bet that they are not working though.

We were not friends knew them through a friend, they were part of his family, like aunt and uncle or something like that.

point being, 2 examples of people getting help, 1 needs it the others may have needed it but had 5 years to change their life and didn't do it.

I also knew a woman at my last Job, she was a Nurse.

she was on Welfare, same as family above, she had 5 years to get off of welfare, so In the first 3 years she went and got her Nursing degree, got a job, started on line got her Bachelor degree, went on to a promotion, now she makes a good income.

with differential, she makes around 40 and hour, with overtime she brings home around 3000 grand a week.

she took advantage and made something out of herself.

These people have to want change and some do, but some do not and they are the ones who need to lose their welfare.

every state needs a time limit, 5 years max.

If theu can't change your life I 5 years then fuck them, that s is their problem.

I doubt they are cutting the elderly, disabled or children. They are going to cut the millions of moochers who are abusing the system. Lets give this a chance and see WHO they cut.

I was watching Vids last night on the "Streets of Detroit at night". That and a few other similar videos can give you an idea of the type of society handouts have promoted.

Go to any General Hospital, the emergency room is filled with people on the handout, often there for very minor issues because they are to dumb and uneducated to take care of themselves.

In my darkest hour nobody helped me; there was nothing, and the one time I went to apply for food stamps in the 80s in NYC, a huge fat black lady laughed me and threw me out of the office. Just so you know there was no income ceiling at the time for food stamps, anybody including the wealthy were entitled to them. They were never meant as a permanent means to feed yourself. Yet even when I was entitled to them in a time of great need, was denied them

Re: Trump budget will slash $193 billion in Food Stamps and $800 billion in Medicaid over 10 Years.
Here is what you do:
1. Do not charge students for school lunches. That should be included in the school's budget. Every child who attends school gets to eat. That encourages education and makes it easier to teach kids who aren't starving.
2. Encourage home gardens and let schools buy home-grown vegetables, etc. Encourage schools to have gardens and have students grown their own foods. That teaches self-sufficiency and prepping.
3. No food stamps. Pass out local vegetables, local fruits, honey, eggs, etc. to those who need food. They have ID and they have drug-free cards (this can be accomplished cheaply and quickly, no lab is needed)
4. For those who have a doctor's note saying that they cannot show up, they will need a local church to deliver the food.
5. No Cokes. No chocolate. Food that is fit to eat and does not rot teeth or create obesity. (which is what food stamps do right now)

That's it. No food stamps.

And as far as disability goes, watch Trey Gowdy's "pin drop" speech.

No disability. Your family takes care of you. If not your family, your local church.

Even without arms or legs, there is a job for you.

Sorry, but the current system CANNOT CONTINUE.

That is laughable, seniors get at most $25.00 per MONTH ( 3o days), where as some bitch in heat with 6 chill-ren gets several hundred in food stamps, free housing, a stupid check for her 1/2 wits, WIC, welfare check, supplemental check, Commodities...
Old people are eating dog food to survive, millennials are eating tons of junk food.. all from the earnings and backs of the seniors.

So true, about 5 years ago my grandmother applied and they said she would only get $22 a month. Her SS she gets is $820 a month. She changed her ways and she can afford food just fine now though.

Wow. This is really going to hurt the average American GLP poster. How will they afford to sit online all day if my tax dollars aren't paying for their food, housing, disability or general chronic unemployment?

How do you KNOW so much? People work out of their home these days. You didn't know that, what with being employed and all, assuming you ARE employed, as you are pointing those fingers at others.

I wrote my congressman, Dick Durbin and asked that food stamp recipients be allowed to only purchase nutritious foods.
