That does not mean I don't believe disabled people should be sitting around collecting a check, but they should be covered and volunteer or work as much as they can for the benefit. In most state that is already happening with low incident citizens that can do some things, just under a lot of supervision.

Also too remember, a lot of kids are on medicaid because there parents can't afford health insurance, and or they are wards of the state. Unemployed pregnant women get medicaid as well, which makes since because you don't want kids born with preventable birth defects and disorders.

So we have to feed people that don't work because otherwise they will rob us? That does not sound very fair.

You can go tell the vets they will be cutting their medical and SSI.

Furthermore, grow a garden and you won't have to purchase the veggies and the fruits. They have these fancy newfangled as hell things called "hybrids" that are specifically for growing in containers. So even if you only have a balcony you can grow produce.

I was cheated by an attorney and lost my home and business years ago. I unknowingly owed the IRS, who knew I was cheated because they were the ones who informed me of it but still held me responsible. I had no choice but to use and EBT card, and I didn't buy soda and chips with it. It took a year and I was back on my feet but that card kept me going (but was embarrassing to use).

A friend who worked all his life as a heavy equipment operator for a company in Wisconsin lost his job because the company he worked for folded and contracts for work at other places fell through. Then he had three heart operations. He almost lost his wife and kids home because of it. The card bought him time and made it possible for him to start his own landscaping and snow plowing business. Now he's back to working, feeding the family and paying taxes himself again.

How many people out there are honest and want to work that the food card helped get back on track as compared to those to stroke the system because they're lazy? I think that should be determined first before serous cuts are made. especially when we're doling out BILLIONS to known wealthy, terrorist, enemy nations...

Reducing welfare eases the burden on those who actually do work. Arguments that this money is going to be spent on something else are not valid without proof that the money is actually going somewhere else.

Not only does welfare make life harder for workers, it also discourages the people who can make ends meet on welfare from working and encourages welfare fraud of the welfare baby variety.

I don't think that anybody here is saying we should slash welfare to send money to Saudi Arabia.

I personally would like to pay less money to feed people I don't know, especially if the reasoning is that otherwise they will rob me, because then it is extortion plain and simple. The difficult truth about IQ and the ability to earn a living wage. IQ is an important facet but not the only one. The truth is if a person has just an IQ of 85 they can do OK for themselves provided they are tenacious enough to persevere. Even with military testing to be a soldier at the most basic level of training you need an IQ of 83.
Now, pointing this out you have to realize the average IQ of a a typical black person in the USA is 85. That is average and does not include the outliers, because clearly there are many black people that do have high IQ and puts many other Americans to shame.

So looking at a bell curve with that being bulk ot the average, you need to realize that one half of the average, falls quickly to an IQ below 70. So My guess is that roughly 25% of black people will have a very difficult job holding down any sort of gainful employment in which they can support themselves. That does not mean they are not hard worker, but probably have a much harder time keeping their attention focused on anyone task too long and not being able to process information fast enough means they are sorely limited.

It is not this faction of the black populations fault. They are by IQ standards , disabled. So it is best to yes, help these people out so they don't fall prey to criminal intentions and built in safety nets for them, and yes , their kids too. It is just the moral thing to do. That does not mean they should get a free ride all the way ,but that they do participate to the best of their ability.
