Here is an example (this is for folks who might wish to host their OWN CONTEST but don't know the in's and out's!) First: There isn't any given rule as to WHEN the up-grade is to be awarded to the winner/winners (at least not that I know about--please correct me if I am wrong on this --it IS an important POINT!) You can do an "advanced Search for the winners names to see if a STAR is added their name if you are curious. Secondly: Of course, if you have noticed you have WON THE CONTEST but don't see the up-grade for longer than, say, a week ...you can always ask for a mod's help (you would need to post a new thread saying: "Help from MOD, Please." if they aren't on the "who's on" list on the GLP menu.) Try to have a good sportsman attitude about winning, too--it is always distressing to see someone flailing their arms about and cursing the Contest Host if there is a "glitch." PAYPAL: For an example, then, I'll use my own contest: Since I will be using Paypal to up-grade "Justalittlebad" --who has won the contest--I've written her/him a private PM explaining that I will up-grade when my next paycheck hits the bank. That is a week out from the contest right now, so that will be a delay, and the upgrade will NOT show up the same night/day as the contest closes. Bottomline--it is very important to keep everyone involved INFORMED in your specific intention about the upgrade. If something comes up and the delay goes longer than a week just post that on the last page of the thread, then everyone including friends of the winner won't have a panic attack. UPGRADING WITH KARMA POINTS: This kind of upgrade is tricky because you can only upgrade using karma points with NON-Upgraded Members. Upgrading an already upgraded member is very problematic because you need to wait for this person's membership to fall into the "expired/grace period"--and that can vary from hours to days before you can upgrade again. MY RULE OF THUMB: Upgrade ONLY A.C.'s with a blue name and explain in your introduction paragraph that ALREADY UPGRADED MEMBERS GET GREEN KARMA ONLY for a winning entry. Just didn't want any misunderstandings to arise, since money-related things are always a "touchy" subject without the boundary being clearly defined up-front. (I posted this info the night I began the contest--on the intro page--but sometimes the info material is skipped.) So--JustALittleBit...Enjoy your up-grade for June, you should see it the first week in June, and if any changes come up I will private PM you to let you know.
