That urge wont go away and the longer you leave it, the worse it will be. In an ideal world, you would be with someone that has the same problem and you plan your lives around being drunk one weekend every three months. Take a mini vacation and it is something to look forward to and it will kill the urge and replace it with anticipation. If you are good at that pattern, that is the cure. Not drinking at all for a drinker is a cure for breathing or freedom - that's it.
