Jack the Marine-RIP
My dearest AA buddy passed on Saturday. He was a pillar of hope & unconditional love for many AA's. He was somewhat of a celebrity having been an AA National Convention speaker numerous times. Though he would tell people there are no AA celebrities.

A great speaker, he'd have people rolling in the isles with good humor. Many of his sayings have become known as "Jackism's" Here's one;

"Rarely have we seen a person get sober who continues to drink"

Jack was a Marine and looked like one. Squared jaw, imposing stature, and mighty in an abundance of personality. He was a recruiting officer after his active duty. He was sober for many many years.

Fitting that he passed on Memorial Day weekend. He will be remembered by the thousands of people who knew him. We love you Jack.

Jack was my friend for 32 years !!! He was a marine & stood tall with honor & dignity !!! I was out power walking at 5:30 AM this morning thinking and praying for him & the family !!! Missing him and our chats over the years ! Just feeling sad & thinking what he would say about that ? He would tell me to buck up !!! He was my hero & saved my life by saying some things like when you do your 5th step get rid of anything that your willing to take to your grave !!! He was telling a room full of people in an AWOL group & I thought he was looking & telling just me ! He was my hero & I will pray for him till I take my last breath !!! He helped lots of people & was a godsend to us all !!! RIP My Wonderful Friend Pauline Leach
