I'm no gun nut but I'd imagine it's pretty difficult to maintain awareness of who is in which position when wearing a motorcycle helmet. You can't see half the room.

Stripes had their Francis Sawyer- "All I know is I finally get to kill somebody." Law abiding gunners would be tickled pink to never have to pull the gun out at all. It is only for saving your own life or someone elses. We will go to the death house for shooting someone because we're pissed at them. Or because it was fun. Death is too final to be "fun".
