If you are going to fake being a time traveler, you need to make sure your story does not have holes. The ransom note holds several clues to weather you are real or not. You can't seem to explain it or why it reads as it does. You also fail to tell us the events of that night. Just tell us your side in detail and we will all be happy!

To the best of my knowledge, I was born in this current time period.
This me here and now, is my representative of me here and now.
Another me is behind and ahead of me simultaneously.

The year was 1984 when things changed for me.
Although, I have seen other clues which point to a time slightly ahead of us, indicating an actual current year of 2880.

I was placed back in the time period I remembered being in prior to leaving.
So that nothing would seem as if it had happened.
Meaning that to others, I had never left.

Purpose?
To relay a message to those in the past, on how to avert global destruction.
Money...get rid of it.

I don't know of any type of Energy Device of Time Travel Machine.
It is something done with the mind internally.
It is done by leaving the body and accelerating through space and time.
Becoming like space, so that you can travel through it at unobstructed speeds, I guess that's a good way to say it.

Each is very complicated on it's own.
So please specify which thing you want to talk about.
