Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20574401 its common for tower blocks to have the odd amount of private rental flats as it is for properties to exist on a rental market average of a normal street. The flats were recently refurbished but private rental clients have a different spec dependant on the landlord requirement. The issue isn't the condition of the flats the issue is more about the way people are treated because of class. The issue is with the fact that critical fire safety materials and resources were absent, gas mains were left unboxed and non fire retarded alongside the only stair case in the block.
The residents had been asking for such issues to be resolved and concerns had been raised multiple times and fell on deaf ears. That was the problem now that's escalated. Quoting: Anderson_G Thing is, you're just repeating the story we've been told by the media. I don't believe a major company like Right Move would be involved with and running an ad campaign for a building that wasn't up to grade with regard to fire safety. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20574401 It's not just the media. On the Grenfell residents' website they repeatedly documented over the years how their concerns over fire safety were neglected. Also, Experts in cladding have said that the cladding is the more flammable type and the facts are that cladding is banned in many other countries for use on high rise buildings.
