you can do much or all of what you need to do by meeting with the free lawyers that work at the court house

they do a better job anyway because they are not trying to get as much money as they can, instead you will tend to get the straight shit from them more often

they are in a hurry, so be organized and come with all your questions and documents prepared whenever possible, go have an initial meeting just to get a direction and figure out what documents to fill out

don't let the expense of a lawyer stop you

plus if you can do most or all of it yourself, you can still hire a lawyer to go to court with you, and it hsould be much less expensive

That's a new one to me. I have called the District Court Clerk's office 3 times & they never mentioned this to me. Does this hold true for every Court?
You can't possibly imagine how grateful I am for your having just read about my trouble, let alone giving me a glimmer of hope.

most courts have a self-help center

if your court does not, you can go to another court in the same state

one other thing, stay out of court if at all possible, it can really go badly

mediation outside of court is a better idea
