Years ago I read a book called "The Crack in the Cosmic Egg"..

The author goes into detail how this "Eureka" syndrome happens and it's just the same as you describe. Although many religions, philosophies, cultures recognize the same. IE: in order to achieve something you must first give up your desire for it.

Einstein supposedly came up with his theory of relativity while he was shaving.
