But today it’s being widely reported that Rinat Akhmetshin, a former Soviet counterintelligence and possibly still current Russian FSB agent, was also in the room. This means that everyone involved with the meeting has been lying to the media all week about who was and wasn’t in the room. Lying to the media isn’t a crime in and of itself. Buy lying to the Feds is another matter. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73863472 Kushner initially lied about all of his Russia meetings on his SF-86 security clearance form, which is an imprisonable felony. Once that fact was exposed earlier this summer, he went back and listed hundreds of foreign meetings, including the one he attended with Donald Trump Jr. and Russia. Manafort has been trying to get himself out from under his own failure to register as a paid foreign agent of the Kremlin, and has also confessed to Trump Jr.’s meeting. But if their “confessions” omitted the fact that a Russian spy like Akhmetshin was also in the meeting, then it means they blew their last shot at trying to avoid prison. We don’t yet know precisely what Jared Kushner or Paul Manafort told the Feds about this meeting. But if they did lie about the meeting while confessing to it, there’s no way they’re walking away from this. ![]() |

His first filing in January stated that he had no meetings with foreign officials. Then in May, he submitted a revised security clearance form with more than 100 foreign names, including a meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, but still did not include the meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya revealed in Donald Trump Jr.’s emails. Then a few days ago, he revised it a THIRD time to include the Veselnitskaya meeting. Every time you omit something in an SF86, it is a felony. As well it should be, because this is a top secret security clearance. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75156585 A 0% chance. C'mon, pal. Kushner's father went to prison. Kris Christie put him in prison. In 2005, following an investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey, U.S. Attorney Chris Christie negotiated a plea agreement with Kushner, under which he pleaded guilty to 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering. The witness-tampering charge arose from Kushner's act of retaliation against William Schulder, his sister Esther's husband, who was cooperating with federal investigators; Kushner hired a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, arranged to record an encounter between the two, and had the tape sent to his sister. Kushner was sentenced to two years in prison and served 14 months at Federal Prison Camp, Montgomery in Alabama before being sent to a halfway house in Newark, New Jersey, to complete his sentence. This was good enough for Hillary under the Obama administration then it's good enough for anyone else in the Trump administration. |
