Mr President, is it true that nearly all of your products are not made in the USA, as is also the case with Ivanka's and how do you justify that?

Blame former presidents for what they have done to the garment manufacturing in the USA the same has the former glory days of USA shoe making and makers. They were renown "gold era" all sent over seas for cheaper quality material and cheap labour.

I'm very aware of garments and shoes. Mind you i mostly wear vintage old vintage, high quality timeless pieces or hand made. When i can, i purchase items in my kitchen "vintage" these older appliances just do not break down.


President Trump wants to bring back these companies to the USA , it's a work in progress. Will not happen over night after decades of shutting the manufacturing companies down on US soil.

So before you bitch and complain, have a look around your home and closet (labels ) and tell me how you have helped the American economy.

Those criticizing Presidnet Trump and Ivanka should know several things:

1. She had to give up complete control of her company in order to work in the government. They had existing contracts which, when they renew, can be changed. Right now they have to abide by those existing contracts.

And, since she gave up control to work for US, who knows if those running the company even have any contact with her and whether she'd have any influence over where her clothes are made.

2. President Trump has always said on the campaign trail that he would buy American made products for his projects if he could find them. He could not find them, he used tv's as an example and had no choice but to buy foreign made tv's and was disappointed.

Keep in mind, this fact alone is one of the reasons he decided to run for President, to bring back American made goods.

The demonrats have been terrible as have folks in the President's own inner circle.

Anthony Scaramucci sold, sold his company, very quickly and not for top dollar, in order to go work for the President. The rumor is that rinso put the kabash on scaramucci who is one of the good guys. Why not get upset over that, ask why he's not working for the administration yet after he made such a personal sacrifice? Instead of focusing on the fact that the President probably had no choice but to buy his campaign products overseas.

Better yet, you do the research and send it to the President and bet he'll go for it.

But you aren't sick of Trump's ties made in China, his shirts made in muslim Bangladesh or Ivanka's shoes made in China and Ethiopia?

We were all having a discussion over the weekend at a bbq about American products.

One of the attendees said that amazon is about to have all kinds of problems, similar to the kind of problems ebay had, because some of the products being sold are counterfeit and people are paying the regular, expensive prices and finding out that their products aren't the real thing.

They're finding this out because the products aren't lasting so then, having paid a couple of hundred bucks for, let's say a shoe, it breaks, they call the corporate office of the manufacturer and find out they have counterfeit shoes.

And, they can produce a box and the shoes look so much like the real deal it's frightening.

This happened to one of the bbq attendees. So he was saying "how can amazon assure you that you are buying the real deal when they run out of something and you click on the link to "other sellers"? Guy was madder than a wet hen and he's going to keep pursing this. And, he's an attorney.

This is soon going to be a huge issue. I think even Justice sotomayor is big on catching counterfeiters.

So, Brand name American companies, manufacturing in foreign countries, aren't helping this counterfeit problem and they are, in the end, denigrating their own brands when the products wear out faster or don't stand the test of time like they did in the past when they were USA made.

Let's take neckties for example. Trump makes his in China. Here are twenty brands of neckties made in USA. Trump's made in China ties competes with them.
