As it seems, a dark net website known as “Alphabay” was allegedly shutdown by a joint federal law enforcement investigation and one of the apparent leading roles to the site was a Canadian citizen named “Alex”. Alex was allegedly found dead in Thialand.

The plot of the movie “Hacker” from 2016 involves a Canadian citizen named Alex, prosecuted on charges of money laundering and cyber-theft, also prosecuted in Thailand."
