Of course it's both. It's just that denial of the human caused acceleration is what the BS is about. The other planets have increased in temperature in a way similar to earth - but that is NOT the end of it. It is more complicated than that.

We also know that human activities create a cooling effect with other pollutants, including increased reflection from contrails, chemtrails (which nobody admits), soot from charcoal fires, Sulfates from coal, etc. - over poorer parts of the world. This tends to cause a slowing in the temperature rise, which MASKS the effect of the CO2, but the CO2 is still there and WILL cause the rise if more sunlight gets to the ground to make heat.

Improvement in pollution control in the developed countries may be contributing to the more rapid rise that we have been seeing over the past couple of decades. If China ever manages to rein in their pollution (by far the worst air pollution in the world) then we are off to the races. Scientists are terribly worried that methane hydrates on the sea bottom will begin to warm and release methane which is much more effective as a greenhouse gas. As long as the Arctic Ocean is frozen, these will remain on the bottom, but if the water warms (and much of the Arctic Ocean is losing its ice cover) then huge amounts of this stuff will come bubbling up to the atmosphere. We could have a huge meltdown of ice-caps at a faster rate than anybody ever predicted. If that happens you will be able to buy oceanfront property in Memphis. However, I will admit that Florida would look better as a coral reef. It has been that in the past.

The thing that is really fascinating here is that there has been publicity lately that the oceanic shipping business releases twice the CO2 as the airline industry (although airlines also release H20 from burning which forms minute ice crystals to reflect sunlight back into space). If there are ever agreements to tax CO2 production - and there is a LOT of discussion about this in Europe - then the shippers are going to be hit by higher fuel prices (peak oil, you know) AND a carbon tax. Thus they either reduce their profit margin (which they won't) or charge more for goods produced by near-slave labor (50cents/day) in developing countries. Sooner or later it becomes too expensive to ship things and they have to move back to the USA where there are a lot of pissed off people who were jobjacked thanks to "free trade."

Thus you will get ONLY corporate denial. This was formerly spoken through their whores in congress that seem to be in the minority now. So the psychological operation has to go to the uneducated masses. So you get bad science purveyed by con-men.
