Woke from nightmare to see a black hooded spirit or something.

So I was dreaming. I felt at first I was passenger in a car looking out the window I saw this dark caramel colored looking smoke parallel to where we were traveling. The smoke behaved similar to incense smoke when a slight breeze hits it. Eventually the smoke changed to a white/grey color and it fogged up my view I the distance. I felt like my fiance was there with me but I was no longer in a car. I was standing on the earth and I could see dirt patches and green grass with stepping stones that went from the earth across a small pond to a dark iron gate. I started stepping on the stepping stones and some how fell into the water. The water was black, it was shoulder high and my feet could tough. the ground but I felt fleshy objects continue to bump into me. I couldn't see them from the surface of the water so I reached down and found out it was a bunch of severed human heads. I woke up from my dream with no paralysis but I saw a hooded skelital figure near the ceiling and it slowly demented closer to me and I could see its arms and hands were bones. When it got right in front of me I lifted my arms in an attempt to hit it away but nothing happened. I turned away and prayed and then in visited myself safe within a bubble of white light. Even after that I was shaken. I got up and checked on my son and then went and read for a little while until I could sleep again. I'm really not sure what to make of this experience.
