12,000 years ago human population was reduced to less than 4000
A recent genetic mapping project suggest that a "bottleneck" in the human gene pool occured about 12,000 years ago. Some suggest that the entire human population was less than 4,000.

Prior to that period, human population was in the billions, then some ostensible catastrophe occured.

I have always wondered why we are here. Those that survive under the most distressed situation, such as in Africa, would be able to make it through conditions that most Westerners would not. Therefore their existence has a purpose.

An analogy is a fireman. 90% of the time they are idle. However, one could argue that they are not very useful since most of the time they are not putting fires out.

However, on that rare occasion when there is a fire, they are indispensible.

Other gene mapping projects also suggest that most of our genetic material is not active. It has been experimentally demonstrated that major changes in environment appear to activate these genes to help the organism adapt to the change in environment.

Europeans are much smaller in stature than Americans. During WWI, the allied forces were in awe at the physical size of US soldiers. The environmental variables such as great expanses of land and low population density and an abundance of food would allow for a larger morphology.

The point is that eventhough we view most people as useless eaters, they may be the firemen of the human race in case of a mass catastrophe that would wipe out most of humanity.

Re: 12,000 years ago human population was reduced to less than 4000
My in-laws live on the Pine Ridge Reservation. In 1999, they were fond of saying "It's already Y2K here." They are so used to making do and doing without, I have no doubt that if there were only two people left on earth it would be a Lakota man and a Lakota woman. Tougher than nails, tougher than anyone could believe.

They are the survivors of 40,000 years of camping out in the most extreme winters, topped off by over a hundred years of determined genocide.

The strongest have survived, and if Planet X came and turned the earth on its side, the Lakota people would think it was a ride at the amusement park.

Sorry, can't help bragging on my relatives. :) It's nice to know they are there....

User ID: 160826 - Sorry it was NOT just Noah's family. There were more survivors. If you look at archeological history you will see that at around the same time 10,000 years ago a similar culture was spread to the four corners of the world all telling a similar story of a great flood that wiped out human kind.

Dam, I'll make sure I survive the upcoming cataclysms so I can be in the 4,000 crowd. Hopefully they'll be 2,000 good looking females to help populate the earth again. I'll be like the leader and raise the kids without any freaking modern day religion.

Nope, I got a 5 year supply of food, wheat grass juice. Underground shelter, weapons. Secret hiding places. 10 people that will take me in, in case my area gets uninhabitable, and I would do the same for them. John Titor said, you need at least 5 people that you can trust, that isn't from your family. Gold coins and silver ain't going to buy you shit when people are fighting for food. A gun and a crew of armed man is your best bet.

Sorry but your dating techniques don't cut it.....there is plenty of geologic evidence for the world wide flood and it was about 4000 years ago. Scientists that beleive in evolution just don't follow logic .....they have "faith" in evolution because to beleive otherwise would mean they would have to beleive in God.....and that is a no-no for an atheistic scientific world. But again evolution isn't science......it's a religion as well

You are correct. This particular course of 'war' against the Human, began in 9,558 BC, or 11,565 years ago. You can read a rather indepth synopsis of this war beginning on page 71 of "The Voyagers", Volume II by Ashayana Deane.

It certainly supports your contention. And is an absolutely fascinating read. The book can be found at Amazon. I would type some of it, but I doubt many here would enjoy it.

Have you ever considered that maybe the Annanaki ordered us out of a planet farming catalog, kind of like ordering baby chickens or other farm animals. The extra DNA genes were programmed for us to perform under a wide range of environments. All they wanted were slaves, and isn't that what we still are?

The Toba catastrophe theory is the only current argument regarding any human population bottleneck.
