I was at customer service today at Fry's and saw a box of what I thought were 3-D movie glasses.

Close, they're Eclipse viewing glasses for the big 8-21-17 eclipse.

COOL!!! cool2

I'll report back on 8-22-17, if I can still see well enough to type, that is...
Yeah I did it, and it can't be undone.

I ordered a pack of 25. Plain white. A group of 6 of us got a cabin in Nantahala National Forest in NC. Decorating our own and selling the rest.

Out in the middle of nowhere as you can around here. Probably kayaking to the middle of the lake. No crowds there.

No crowds is because of the NNFLM.

That lake monster is known to hang out in the middle of the lake. It's attracted to kayaks movements (like paddling), I hear tell.

I'd rather do it old fashioned and just glance at it.

You can look at the sun without glasses. Just can't stare at it. A quick glance.

That's what I'm afraid of. These things are paper thin.

I have a welding hood and torch goggles, and I was afraid they wouldn't protect my eyes enough.

Not the same. In the early 70's our school made little boxes to watch a solar eclipse with. It was awesome to see.

We watched it from beginning to end. Several minutes of awesomeness.

There was no CGI, project blue beam, or anything like that back then.

To all of you flat Earther's out there, YOU'RE WRONG!

We won't get a great view from Texas but my husband has his welding glass panes removed from his welding helmets.
They work great, good for looking for sun spots when there are some to look at.
