Re: No NEW inventions or ideas for decades??
It is just that these days great inventions are not from "loose cannons", so to speak. The great minds have been snatched up by the system, and work like slaves for it. We only see what they let us. There has been many breakthroughs, but us plebs get none of the rewards of our tax dollars.

Re: No NEW inventions or ideas for decades??
There will come a day and it is coming soon when there will be no "system" that can contain the free flow of innovation. There are several master inventions that arise in the development of a civilization that enable direct access and implementation with full authentication with no interference from the usual suspects of dominance and control. Think along the lines of the Dark City as protagonist takes over the tuning mechanism of the city. But instead of a city it is planet or solar system wide.

These new inventions have never depended upon the gross material plane of things and gadgets but on the spirit and soul forces. Our machines and technicians are forever playing catchup to the power of the unleashed mind.

Re: No NEW inventions or ideas for decades??
Education peaked in 1970 in the U.S. and has been on general decline ever since. Blacks then fueled lower levels of learning (no I.Q. tests) and continue to do so. Nicola Tesla had so much to offer but people stealing from him basically cut us out to his future inventions. Obama era education standards guarantee lower levels of student learning for years to come.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72556752

Tesla mainly worked on his own with his own original ideas. Maybe a Tesla brain only occurs once every century or less. Read the historical novel "Tesla" by Tad Wise. Tesla invented many of the products and ideas that others ended up getting credit for.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75373018

This. Tesla was EXTREMELY unique and the more time that passes without another Tesla, the more this becomes obvious.

Or, Ops original point is true and there is no better way to create power.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70440883

You would think that someone would have found it by now if there was. Hundreds of Billions of dollars have been spent on R/D by governments and companies all around the world and yet they cannot improve on Tesla power.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71532065

There may not be anything better to discover??

Re: No NEW inventions or ideas for decades??
I can name a few since 1990:

- Solid state light amplification, with EDFA (Erbium Doped
Fiber Amplifier). Allowed laser photon regeneration and
allowed current worldwide fiber optic network, using one
EDFA per 100 Km up to 1000 Km.

- Ultra high speed at Internet by using Hardware instead of
software for IP switching at routers. 100's of Terabits/sec

- Fractal antennae, embedded at every mobile phone, wich allow wideband reception and transmission far from the head!

- Home banking, e-commerce, social media (a shame, but still).

- Positron emission tomography (PET), to search full body for diseases.

- Molecular composite materials, allowing different coatings
being used at clothes, construction, aluminum, painting,
airplanes, seats,.....

- Replacement of aluminum by cooper at the junction between
chips and external leads, wich allowed the creation of
Gigaherts CPUs (from P4, thanks to IBM).

- DirecTV and equivalent, with Galaxy V class satellites and
25" antenna. This one has to be credited 100% to Hughes.

- Flat screens: Several technologies.

- Ion-Lithium batteries.

There are a lot of things, not visible by people, under the hood.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75397213

Exactly. Just incremental improvements of older technologies.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75072354

I can't understand how come a twisted and retarded mind feels entitled to be hypocritical, posing as someone who has an IQ above average.

The title clearly says "new inventions and ideas", so I wrote exactly about that.

Don't dare to use my own words for another meaning, POS!

Your life must sucks, specially at nights, when your innerself has to deal with what you have miserably to do during the day. Not even useful for trolling 101.

Have humans now learned everything and stopped advancing?

I dont consider self driving cars or new models of CPUs or phones as new inventions as they are just modifications of existing products.

Same A/C power since Tesla invented it. Same wireless since Tesla. Same cars since Ford. Same airplanes. Same CPUs. Same transistors. Same rocket engines. Same robots. etc, etc, etc,

Yes, they all have gotten more perfected over time but nothing is new.

However There Is Lots Of Advancement... We are just not seeing it... due to suppression on many levels...

New Nokia smart phone has a revolutionary new feature that allows user to take super selfie or "bothie" pictures; both front and back cameras can operate at the same time so every pic you take has also your selfie documenting your reactions or feelings. It's also possible to take traditional pics or trad selfies

Edison tried to publicly discredit everything that he did. And on and on. Tesla had very few allies but still released most of his ideas even if he didnt get credit for a lot of it.

All the upgrades for the school were stole by them. Cavitation. Research a "star in a jar" experiment. It solved all of earth's energy needs and our space exploration ones as well. Based on a humble pistol shrimp, AND WAS DEMONSTRATED BY KEELEY. Keelys Secret. That was 1800's prior to Telsa.

Look up the Mercedes Benz grown from a seed. Then comprehend how huge ufo/space stations that often are by the sun but bigger than planets seem to exist.

Imagine, growing crystals, sort gmo, on a vine into a huge vessels and they can continue to grow in space. That mercedez seems to be a gift from somewhere.

There are countless scientists/inventors who bit the dust or were discredited or bought off.

We should have had beamships in our backyards since at least the 40's and even in Africa with unlimited clean energy, and no homeless or slavery anywhere, land for all.

They stole the upgrade! Now they want to depopulate so they can keep power over everything.

We've been kept in a 40's style fossil fuel bubble with a few computer perks thrown our way to keep us distracted. Though in a sense this also caused many to see through them. But they have to do that, at least one of their stupid dark occult cosmic law things is true, though most are not.

One of the big issues is the incredible amount of research and development dollars and investment capital that is squandered on the military. Global spending on war is beyond comprehension. Just look at how much they spent to develop the f35, fighter jet. That is just one weapons system among thousands. If you try to calculate how much a century of warfare has cost us you will be staggered by the sheer incomprehensible scope of the waste.

Tesla had to have dollars to do what he did. Inventors need avenues to obtain capital and need to be protected from infringement at least until they have some control and can self fund new projects. the entire system is structured to ignore, or co-opt and destroy or misuse the inventors intellectual property and there are few that are sufficiently capitalized to defend themselves against the power of modern nation states and the multinational corporate overlords.

If we spent a fraction of what we spent on professional sports or national televised talent shows on funding startups and created incubators for nascent ideas to emerge and develop, we might see golden age proportion development. I haven't seen it yet and I have been waiting for years while watching dollars flow down the military industrial complex drain or into utterly banal and ridiculous so-called hi-tech development.

OK we have something in common.

I developed a unique insert that went inside a can for competitions. Pop the lid and if you're a winner, a small bouy pops up with 'winner' written on it.

The only way the bouy could come out was to destroy the can.

It was initially developed for Coca Cola here in OZ, but they liked it so much, they showed it to the US division.

Coke owned a few liquor companies here, and the first few trials were really successful, and I did OK.

Coke was really interested to use it as an exclusive mechanism for the brand, sub brands and aligned interests.

We agreed on a hand over figure, to be paid in 4 lump sums.

Then the USFDA had a look at it, and reasoned that someone could indeed pull the can apart, destroy the mechanism, put it in their mouth, and choke.

That is pretty much the exact wording.

It was deemed a choking hazard.

So over night all deals were off. I still have the patent, but regardless of the successful trials here, everyone still comes back to the USFDA failed report.

That's an interesting question OP. I have wondered recently that we couldn't put a man on the moon right now if our lives depended on it. The Apollo Program in the 60's did it with slide rules and handwritten calculations FFS! And the planned Mission to Mars keeps getting pushed further and further back. Hell, we can't even put a Space Shuttle up with it blowing to pieces.

I really think the advancement of civilization has reached it's peak and we're heading back towards a new Dark Ages. Maybe that has to happen to stimulate new ideas.

Re: No NEW inventions or ideas for decades??
There's plenty of good, new ideas, OP. But commercialising them has been skewed so that the multinationals are the only avenue to sell to market.

Just patenting something is so fucking hard nowadays, and making it a world wide patent is expensive too.

I currently have (3) patents and numerous design registrations, and have done OK, but not enough for me to stop working or anything like that.

I have some really cool ideas and protos that I'd love to get to market, but my only realistic options are to mount a smash and grab approach, and have everything ready, including a marketing plan, and distribution ready to roll in one big het and make my money there, whilst all the me too's then copy it and do their thing. I might get lucky and be able to sell it, lock stock to someone else.

But there are some subtleties to what you're asking.

Some ideas are purely to make money off, and you cant begrudge anyone for wanting to do that.

Some ideas are ground breaking, and in the best interests of mankind, but even if you release a working prototype, and state categorically that you are giving this idea to the world for free, it will likely be buried, as it may impinge upon vested interests, and their returns on current investments. Cheaper to bury, than to compete. Ask Preston Tucker. (or at least watch the movie! LOL)

It's a powerful 'machine' to go up against. And many of us learn the hard way, by being blinded by the idea, and excited at seeing an idea come to life, then realising just how much work and MONEY will be required to protect it, and bring it to fruition.

I worked with Marty and Marc on the first Tesla roadsters, and trust me, the excitement diminished really quickly once everyone realised what 'investment' actually spelled out for everyone concerned. Marty and Marc who? Exactly.

My focus is on leaving Sydney, which is just an expensive shit hole nowadays. But when I have, and can set up a decent workshop, I have some really cool ideas I'd like to either commercialise, or low volume push into the market quietly.

Re: No NEW inventions or ideas for decades??
That's an interesting question OP. I have wondered recently that we couldn't put a man on the moon right now if our lives depended on it. The Apollo Program in the 60's did it with slide rules and handwritten calculations FFS! And the planned Mission to Mars keeps getting pushed further and further back. Hell, we can't even put a Space Shuttle up with it blowing to pieces.

I really think the advancement of civilization has reached it's peak and we're heading back towards a new Dark Ages. Maybe that has to happen to stimulate new ideas.

i generally agree- the 1960's was the apex of civilization and technology

since then we have become lazy and readily amused with trinkets and gadgets like the endless smartphone apps that allow you to do something that you never had a need for, but now you do it just because you can

I then saw as the Nephilim aligned themselves with certain people, and merged themselves with these people. I saw as they revealed themselves to these people as angels of light, as spiritual guides. I then heard as these people began to proclaim and speak of new theories and discoveries with which to explain the mysteries of the past, as well as forthcoming discoveries of the future. And their words were greeted and welcomed and believed upon by many.

I think it was an apex of intent. The 60's were definitely a period where if we put our minds to it, we achieved it. And I bunch everyone together in that, US, Ruskies, Commonwealth nations etc. But nations no longer have the will, or the money to fund how high they can piss up a wall to make the other nation look small.

There's an often mentioned quote from Don Petit, who says "we dont have the technology to go back to the moon". Its often misconstrewed.

Petit is talking 'engineer'.

NASA and its subcontractors have moved on, in all respects, and sending something or someone to the moon isnt possible. The dedicated science, engineering and production for it no longer exists. It's geared to what they are funded for and trying to achieve now.

That the Mars programs are being pushed further and further back is not a conspiracy, it's just funding and political will to commit to the propgrams. It isnt there.

If you rang Ford and asked them for a new 1960 car, they just arent in a position to make one, they've moved on and have committed to new technology and new ways of making things. Same would apply to asking GE for a new 50 y/o refrigerator. It would not be possible, without a huge amount of money and political will.

But I'm digressing from the OP's original question.

The new ideas are there. Just not able to be so readily placed into the market, as anything that effects the status quo (read control and money making ability) will not be easily accepted.

Tesla Motors is becoming successful because of a shit tonne of money invested outside the normal channels. But, the board is diversifying like crazy to protect themselves from the Fed Govt' injection of moneys to that specific venture.

No. The human realm though amazing, is limited.
