Yeah....that sounds familiar "For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”-2 Peter 3:3-4 |

Hard to tell. Almost every generation has believed they are the last. We could be or it could be 10,000 years from now. Hard to tell honestly. All we can do is live each day like it's our last and nourish our spirits and love our brother around us. Sin certainly is rampant but I'm sure it always has been. God bless you all. |

It is written the events of the last days shall come upon all those that dwell upon the earth as a snare. Those not looking for His return but only concerned with earthly things will be utterly surprised. I'm pretty convinced that group (in the West at least) has grown exponentially over the last few decades. |

As much as that is true, the big difference with ages past is sin has now become the law of the land. And that's something we have never witnessed before. It's truly unique for our times. On the other hand, we've never had such a clear understanding of God's "appointed times". |

About 4 or 5 years ago I was at the grocery store and there was a tiny ancient lady in the aisle I went down to get what was needed. Wel,l it looked like she was trying to figure out how to get something from the top shelf that was out of her reach. Since I was much taller and the top shelf was easy for me I asked if I could help with anything. To which she answered that she was trying to decide if she needed what ever the item was. We started chatting where this lead to that and she talked about her life, it was facinating, and things she had learned. Such a wise woman this lady was. Some how conversation came to this exact thing, as well as 2012. She said every decade has negative and positive things going on, that there are always people that get so worked up and work others up about the signs pointing to it being the end times. The first time it happened in her life that she was old enough to pay attention to it, sometime in the 1920s, she was swept up in it and the world continued on. Again in the 1930s and she was swept up again and again the world continued. So when it started again in the 1940s she realized There was a pattern and along with the negative things there were many positive things going on too. This time she chose to focus on the positive things and has continued with that track and her life had been lovely ever since. So don't get stuck in the negative and chaotic energy. It separates you from God. Expecally near any special Sun or Moon thing. You will be sucked in the wrong direction. God is love, connection, joy peace and freedom. Does this contribute to these feelings & emotions? You have the freedom of choice, always try to choose wisely. |

Look at the verse that you cited. It doesn't say the world WILL BE lying in that power, but the world IS lying in that power. The idea that the writers at that time were writing about stuff that would happen 2000 years after they were dead and gone is difficult to support. They were writing to the people alive at the time. If they were writing to people 2000 years later, writing for posterity in other words, why bother preaching this stuff to the folks alive in their own time? |

I know that many attempts have been made over the years (and years and years) to slide around the plain sense of his saying "this generation shall not pass," and try to make it about some far off future generation, but if this were so, why would Jesus warn them to take heed that no man deceive them when they were all going to be long dead anyway? I have never seen a sufficient answer to that simple question. Beyond that, there have always been wars and rumors of wars, nations rising against nations, famines, plagues, and earthquakes all over the place, so this portion of "prophecy" will always fit any time because it is so vague. Apocalypticism has been a common feature |

If they were writing to people 2000 years later, writing for posterity in other words, why bother preaching this stuff to the folks alive in their own time? The reason for quoting that scripture, that "The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one"..was to show that not just this country but every country on earth is under Satan's control....if that were true when those words were penned, 2000 years ago, has it changed? world conditions prove that we are under the rule of the Devil, and more so now because he has been confined to the vicinity of the earth, and conditions are much worse than even when they were penned, as foretold they would be: "And war broke out in heaven: Micha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God! 11 And they conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their witnessing, and they did not love their souls even in the face of death. 12 On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”- Revelation 12:7-12 Last Edited by CelestialMaiden on 08/21/2017 10:41 PM |
