When entering a port the ship is put in a special watch detail which every sailor on the ship participates in. I highly doubt every sailor was sleeping on watch. These straights are extremely busy and all captains know this and take further precautions. Before blaming the crew you should have a little understanding of how things work. And the location of impact indicates the navy is unlikely to be at fault. |

There is no shear damage from a ship under power. It was a direct hit ! The McCain would have been under full power to get out of the way of a ship that was 4 times it's size. They didn't see it coming but if they did, they were dead in the water and could not navigate. Something isn't right with this picture... Not right at all. |

Quoting: hollyavila I think you are correct. The chances of a Navy destroyer accidentally hitting a large shipping vessel (or getting hit by) is almost 0. They have radar, they have people observing on deck, hell they have automated collision alarms when anything gets within 2 football fields. Even basic fishing boats you see on TV shows have automated collision alarms. Now we are expected to believe this has happened twice now?????? They are covering this up because A. they obviously can't stop whats disabling our ships B. If the public finds out they will want war with the country doing it to us and obviously if we can't stop them from EMPing our ships (maybe works on planes also) then we are at huge disadvantage in a war. Might be why they had almost every Carrier in the US fleet in port at around the same time a few months back. Getting retro-fitted with EMP shielding? Anonymous Coward User ID: 13254775 United States 08/21/2017 12:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Typical of this generation to read and believe anything put out on social media or the msm. Let me put it in terms that a child can understand, the USS Cook's radar and operating systems were not shut down by the Russian SU-24. Any article reporting it is LYING!!!!! I knew someone on that ship during that incident who happened to be in the CIC at the time. Nothing happened, except the captain had orders to passively lock weapons onto the aircraft. As to this Khibiny radar Russia claims to have, it would need to be the size of three aircraft and still would not affect the US ship. And this so called "Khibiny," as Russia claims, is only on SU34 and Su-30. So all lies to go around. As to the people on board claiming to resign, never happened. There were fleet transfers and rotational units as all ships have. Once again, the "27" resignations are a lie!!!!!!! The USS Fitzgerald was incompetence from both captains. Yet, it doesn't explain why the cargo ship made 3 circle turns before the accident. If it was an accident. I'll reserve judgement on the the USS McCain until the truth surfaces. Unlike most of you morons on here, I use my brain and search for the truth instead of believing the crap put out by the left, rinos, and hate groups. |
