Not Russia nor Saint Petersburg existed in the time of Saint Peter. As for the name in original Koine Greek was Petros which is different than Pater (father). It is well known that Russia is trying to promote Moscow as the Third Rome and to control all of the Orthodox Christian Nations, but until a few years ago all of them were extreme atheists and communists.

Churches were designed for their acoustics to make music pleasing to God. Such Cathedrals were made to be concert halls, this is historical architectural fact. So the music is the object of focus. I [and many today] acknowledge the Russian music to be far better quality than in the west.
