Frankly I having gone through hurricane Andrew personally and still seeing photos of trees standing in those photos that really was not a bad storm after all. Hurricane Andrew had snapped off concrete telephone poles at their bases for miles chain-link fence is were blown flat.
Concrete structures built at hurricane standards in the 60s and 70s were utterly obliterated. I'd say they got off easy.

Dumb-asses did this to lots of dogs in NC when we had the Flood of the Century back in 1999. Anyone who would do that are scum and idiots and oxygen thieves! At least let them off the chain so they can try to get to safety on their own. This will surely stand against them on the Day of Judgement!

I've noticed that it's always ignorant and/or seriously uneducated people that refer to animals the way that you did.

Intelligent and educated people see animals for what they are. They don't expect them to be as intelligent as people - only stupid people seem to expect that. (Think, Homer Simpson) In fact, most intelligent people are very impressed when an animal shows exceptional intelligence and learning ability for their kind or breed, but they are not angry towards it when it shows normal intelligence.

Sometimes I think some building structures shouldn't be allowed in low lying coastal areas but i know rebar steel and concrete is expensive material to build with... these pictures just make me sad.

I agree in part. I remember pics and videos of Andrew well, nothing but debris and completely leafless trees. Most things are better built now, there are plenty of pics here with twisted ibeams and cars and trucks tossed like toys. This is still a massive crisis and it appears that many people evacuated.

Based on these pics, 95% of Texans are either morbidly obese, drug addicts, spics or all of the above.

Most of those places look as if they were pretty destroyed before the hurricane struck. So do the ppl. Surprised to see so much shab in a coastal area.

was on the radio in the UK earlier, some interview with Brandene type woman.....she was moaning that trees had landed on her garden, but Nicole's house had gone...dunno where Nicole was..

My girlfriend said she read that the dog tied to the tree was rescued and is ok!

Leaving a dog out in a hurricane is just plain animal abuse. They could have at least brought it in the house for shelter from the storm.

People shouldn't own animals if they are going to treat them that way.
