I had two biological beings who fed me, sheltered me, and treated me like an inconvenient pet who they wished would run away.

So I did.

Do I love them? I thought it was my duty to love them. I thought it was my duty to try to teach them I could be loved by either or both of them. I thought that and more...

(cue violins) To answer your question. I loved my parents because I needed to love--and they were loved for being there.

After I ran away, they noticed I wasn't there and bought a teacup poodle.

Thankfully it was never house broken (I was), and that dog pissed all over the living room furniture where no one was allowed to enter without a permit, lol.

My Mum was the bad and good cop growing up. If I did something wrong (which most boys do), I got a spanking and then a cuddle shortly after it. Yes. My best friends. My father died, but my mom is alive, almost 87. I dread her passing. We talk almost every day and I cannot imagine not having her around.
